"Who sent this?" I growl at my men as my mom is a sobbing mess. The small box inside contained a very bloody finger of my father's. Along with it was his wedding band ring and a note.
"We don't know your highness. We found it just on the border of our territory line, tucked under a bush."
"Mom, what does the note say?" Hopefully that gives us a clue as to who sent this and why. Instead of telling me, she simply hands me the note for me to read for myself.
