Excusing ourselves from Xander and Gabby, I lead Ruby into Travis's hospital room. I can't believe my mom turned Travis. I mean, I understand why, but to see him with those yellow eyes and now I can sense his wolf, it just seems so surreal.
Ruby gives my mom a hug and grabs a seat for herself and me, placing them near the bed. Giving Ruby's hand a slight squeeze, I encourage her to tell my mom what occurred in the dungeon.
My mom is a sobbing mess and my heart shatters seeing her like this. I know I should be more upset, but I don't think reality has quite hit me yet that he's really gone. My mom stands up from the bed and I stand as well to give her a hug. "Mom, how did you know dad was... gone?"
She looks over at Travis and he nods his head, "I'll explain that."
