When ropey told me we were, well, I was supposed to have dinner in the dining room. I had a full moment of panic, thinking that maybe Rhysand was back and was the one that said requested my presence. I was still trying to guess where we stood based on our last conversation, but I came up empty.
Actually, I gave up when I reminded myself that the man couldn’t be predicted. He could do one thing now and then change his mind literally seconds later. He is hot and cold when he feels like and for no reason.
When I walked in though, I met only Lucien sitting at the table. In his usual seat. I still had hope that maybe Rhysand would show up, and I kept looking at the door. I wasn't even aware I was doing it until Lucien pointed it out.
“Are you expecting someone?” He asked good naturedly
