Chapter 24 The Earl of Southwell knew his behaviour was once again outrageous. Outrageous, ungentlemanly, and unforgivable. But he had lived like a monk for three months in Spain, with the proffered affection of women there holding no appeal for him. He had not then attributed this to his growing desire for his ward.
