ramina fingered the scar on her ear, thinking of Gredber and the wolf pack she had left behind. Were they still alive? Had the hoard of half-alive beings trampled dens, muddied the water, chased away all the game?
"I can see the city walls," Raori said, shading his eyes with one hand, squinting against the morning sun. "Do you think they'll betray us, Priestess?"
Aramina had no answer. Bodb Derg's next move did not concern her as much as MacKegan's. He still held power over Raori and herself. Thus far he chose not to use it, gods only knew why, but soon he would. When he did, well, she just hoped to be free of the bond by then.
"What is that?" Duinn asked, pointing toward Cnos Fada. "Raori, use your blasted fey sight and tell me."
