"Now now," the Silver Fox said, stepping just out Duinn's reach. The dwarf growled and pulled his hands back inside the cell. "You always were one to gloat," Duinn said. "Not gloating," the Silver Fox replied. He set the torch in its place on the wall. "I'm trying to understand you. Your wife, daughters, the village you lived in were all destroyed by MacKegan and yet here you are, serving him loyally. I confess I cannot make sense of it." Duinn looked back toward the window and the imagery of freedom. There were things the Fox pried at; things Duinn had buried deep in his mind to be permanently forgotten.
