CHAPTER SIXTEENThe house that represented number 5, Silver Street, was among the first eight most beautiful houses on the street. Silver Street was a well-planned street that accommodated the fairly rich men in the Owerri. Dr. Victor’s house was a four roomed bungalow with a moderately large compound. The wall that surrounded the compound was a very short one with thick burglary bars used to complete the wall to a normal size, thereby allowing observers to see much of what the inside looked like from outside.
