CHAPTER TWELVEAll Saint orphanage was situated at the extreme north of Owerri, its surroundings were very remote with very few neighbouring houses largely separated from each other. It had a very large compound that was completely fenced with a very large wall. The interior of this great wall was a set of well-planned buildings that housed and provided home for sixty-five children. The compound contained six big halls that served as hostels for the children, a big refectory, four structures that served as classrooms, two office blocks where the administrative activities took place, the staff quarters and other little structures that served as stores and toilets, and still had enough space for the children’s recreational activities.
