Enzo crashed open the door and rushed in only to find Tallulah in the bathtub in a pool of her own blood. Her hand was placed on the edge of the tub with blood dripping from her cut wrist unto the white tiled floor. The glass she had used to cut her wrist was sitting in the pool of blood "Ma'am!". Enzo called going down on one knee. He slightly touched Tallulah's shoulder but got no response."Ma'am!!"He called loudly as the tension got worse. The men rushed over to help take her out of the tub. She was lifted out of the tub and into the bedroom. Enzo held his suit at the front and spoke into the little chip plugged on it. "Send Camille upstairs. First aid required, fast". Later, Tallulah opened her eyes a little and looked at the ceiling. Everything was blur and she could not tell what was what. But at least she could tell that it was a different room from the one she had entered before. "Ma'am?". She heard Camille and diverted her eyes to where she heard the voice. She could not see Camille clearly yet saw a small but reassuring smile playing on Camille's lips. She opened her mouth to speak when she felt a sharp pain in her head. She squinted her eyes and used both hands to hold her head when she felt another synchronizing pain in her wrist. Then everything went blank. The next thing she knew, a sprinkle of water came in contact with her face making her open her eyes again and for a split second, everything become clear. The headache had subsided. She felt her wrist being attended to and was pleased that Camille was still with her. But the thought of still waking up knowing that she was in a marriage to a mafia lord she had never met was disturbing. Tallulah used her injury free hand to support herself as she tried to sit upright in bed. "Be careful". She heard a husky male voice say but it didn't sound like he cared if she hurt herself again. She finally sat upright only to find not Camille but a dominant looking male sitting beside her on the bed. "Mateo". She whispered. She had recalled the name from the signed contract. "It's quite a pleasure that my wife knows my name". Mateo spoke gruffly removing a fresh bandage from the first aid kit. He held Tallulah's hand and before he could bring it towards himself, she withdrew it immediately. "I am not you wife". Tallulah summoned enough courage to say though the look in his eyes screamed danger. She looked away and repeated. "I am not your wife and I will never be". The silence was so thick it could be cut with a knife. Just when she thought Mateo would not utter a word, she felt him grab her cheeks tightly using one hand. He turned her face towards him. "Look at me when you speak, princess". He spoke in-between gritted teeth. Tallulah was holding back tears. "Please". She muttered shutting her eyes tightly."You're hurting me". "Look at me!" He commanded and Tallulah opened her eyes. They were wide in horror. "You're one courageous woman aren't you?". He asked and gave a one sided smile. "You say you're not my wife but daddy dearest thinks otherwise doesn't he?". He inquired as he harshly let go of her cheeks. The marks of his fingers reflecting on her cheeks as she held unto them to soothe the pain. Mateo looked at her for a few seconds and stretched his hand towards her. Tallulah turned away closing her eyes. She thought he was going to hurt her again but opened her eyes when she felt him tangle her hair using his fingers. "Your hair". He started but paused. "Exotic".He stated simply.Tallulah shifted, letting her red hair fall from Mateo's fingers in curls. He grabbed her hand and brought it towards him then started wrapping the bandage around her wrist before she could react. He placed the first aid kit on the lamp stand when he was done and stood up. "You'll need that the next time you do something stupid to yourself" He said and walked to the door."And then wake up two days later". With that, he opened the door and went out. Tallulah's eyes bulged. Two whole days asleep?!?! How could she be asleep for that long?. She was still in shock about the whole thing when there was a knock on the door then Camille came in. "I can't stay here Camille". Tallulah said turning to look at Camille who just entered. "Oh you poor child". Camille sighed walking over to the bed then sat beside Tallulah. "Oh dear!". Camille exclaimed placing her fingers over her mouth. "What happened here?". She asked referring to the marks on Tallulah's cheeks. "That monster…. Tallulah started but got stopped by Camille. "Shhh… don't say that. Mateo is not a monster". Tallulah did not understand how someone could be that cruel yet have people to stand up for him. "I can't be here. I don't belong here. I do not want to be here". Tallulah said bitterly breaking down in tears. "Come here". Camille stated with an open arm that Tallulah crept into. "You can't change the past". "But I can change the present". Tallulah said and sniffed. "I'll just leave". "It doesn't work that way, ma'am". "It's Tallulah, Camille. Please". Tallulah interrupted gently. Camille smiled "Okay Tallulah". "How does it work then?" "All you need to know is not to get on Mateo's nerves. You can be alive one minute and then dead the next". Camille stopped there and used her hand to demonstrate a gun to her head. Tallulah gasped and covered her mouth with both hands as her eyes widened in surprise. At the moment she knew she had entered doom and couldn't stay there for even another day because there was no way she wouldn't get on Mateo's nerves. Camille seemed to have noticed the terror on Tallulah's face."Don't be scared Tallulah. He wouldn't hurt you". After everything Camille had told her yet she shouldn't be scared?. Mateo was a mafia lord for crying out loud. "Don't think about it too much Lula. Just have the rest you need". Camille said getting up and using her palm to smooth Tallulah's red hair. "I'll be going now, see you tomorrow". Camille said and walked out of the room. Tallualuh decided that she was not going to stay in that house for another night. So she placed her feet on the ground and tried getting up when she felt immense pain. She looked at her feet and saw them bandaged. She sighed and got up staggering a little as she did. Every step she took was followed by a limp. She opened the door and came out then carefully went down the stairs. The pain emanating from under her feet was getting worse but she didn't care, all she wanted was to get out of that place as soon as possible. "Ma'am!". A bodyguard called "You shouldn't be out here. You should be resting". Tallulah ignored him and kept going towards the door. "You can't leave ma'am". Another bodyguard stated going to her. She pushed him aside and walked out of the door. "Move a muscle and I shoot". She heard Mateo say behind her.
