Chapter 11 - Kidnapped

2350 Words
Adomis; “Don’t move, any of you!” the imposter commands sternly.  “Or I’ll be forced to open up her pretty little throat.” He promptly moves himself backwards, dragging Ivy along with him as they move out of the middle of the gathered soldiers. “No…” she grunts defiantly at him. I can see that she is struggling pointlessly against his hold, but he is obviously too strong for her, not to mention the threat of the dagger about to slice her neck wide open. “Ivy, don’t move!” I call out with grave concern. Her brows are furrowed inwards as she looks at me with an expression of sheer terror. “Adomis, it’s him, it’s Ronaar!” she attempts to warn me. Ronaar silences her by pressing the blade further into her skin, enough to draw a small amount of blood and she cringes, wincing with pain. “Ronaar?” I ask aloud, shaking my head from side to side in disbelief. “But how the hell did you…” Ronaar rolls his eyes as he replies, his tone showing utter boredom. “It was an enchantment, you moron…” he snaps, directing his harsh words at me and me alone.  “One that would have done its job had our beautiful Ivy here not figured it all out and ruined everything in the process. Such a smart woman you have here, hmm Adomis?” She grunts angrily back at him as he grins from ear to ear, the bastard still wearing my face and using my voice against her. “You’re disgusting.” she spits with fury, even with the blade threatening her demise. “You didn’t think that about me earlier on…” he teases her, speaking his words of embarrassment over her shoulder and making sure to keep his eyes locked on mine. He knows I can hear his every word. “In fact, as I recall this disgusting man made you scream endlessly with desire.” My eyes widen in rage. “Shut the f**k up, you spineless bastard!” Ivy snaps at him, struggling in anger at his embarrassing admittance. As soon as she meets my gaze, I can see it. I can tell. Ronaar is telling the truth! My stomach drops and my heart darkens at the possibility of that fucker putting his hands on my woman. On my Ivy... My eyes narrow and I can feel the fire within me rising up toward the surface. I need to destroy something or someone. I can no longer hold it all in and am about to unleash hell on anyone unfortunate enough to stand in my way. ‘HE TOUCHED HER!’ Then the possibility enters my mind and I freeze… ‘Did he f**k her?’ ‘Would he?’ ‘Who am I kidding, of course he would! He’s as slippery as a f*****g snake!’ I’m about to cause havoc when I meet her tear-filled eyes and see the complete fear she is currently experiencing. She’s terrified, fearful for her very life. My jealous fury can wait, right now I need to help the woman that I love. “Let her go Ronaar!” I command loudly. “And why would I do that?” Ronaar counters, his snide grin still spread wide across his face. I can tell he’s enjoying every single second of tormenting me like this. “Ivy and I have been getting to know one another quite well in your absence, Overlord…” he turns his attention to her now, “Haven’t we, my sweet?” My fists clench either side of me as I am forced to hear him continue speaking of her in such a demeaning way. “I have seen every single inch of this woman’s glorious body... I’d say that’s a step above us being mere acquaintances, wouldn’t you agree, Adomis?” “This is between you… and me.” I remind him as calmly as I can manage given my current situation. I’m finding it harder and harder to hold in my impulsive rage now and I know what he’s doing. He’s trying to make me lose control. But I won’t allow him to win. Not when Ivy’s life is on the line. “Release her and we can handle this man to man, Ronaar.” I demand, deciding to add, “Unless you’re afraid to go one on one with me again?” Ronaar snorts at my suggestion. “Please… we all know how the last duel between us ended, don’t we?” He rubs his victory in my face as he continues. “You’re lucky I was in a merciful mood at the time and spared your pathetic life. In hindsight, perhaps I should have gone through with ending your life. Would have saved us all a lot of trouble.” “You’re nothing but a pitiful coward, Ronaar.” Ivy suddenly snaps at him, her eyes narrowed with defiance as she attempts to be brave and stand up against his oppression. “Is that so?” he raises a single brow at the idea. ‘s**t! Ivy, shut up! What are you doing?’ - Ivy; I can feel the cold press of steel being held at my exposed throat and the sharp sting that comes every now and then, whenever I move or he pushes in against my throat with the dagger. “You think me a coward, do you my dear?” Ronaar presses with a sadistic grin. I reply quickly, so as not to show any signs of fear. I know he enjoys seeing me afraid and I won’t allow him the chance. “Yes, only a coward would threaten to harm an unarmed woman like this.” It’s not much of a comeback, but it’ll do. For now, anyway. I need to keep him distracted so that someone, anyone can think of a way to get me the hell out of this mess. “The last thing I wish to do is harm you, Ivy.” Ronaar announces, lifting his head up to glance around at the soldiers, all with their swords out and prepared to charge if given the order. “But if my hand is forced…” Adomis must get Ronaar’s hinted warning to back off, as he suddenly calls out his command for the others to follow. His hand is out gesturing along with his command. “Stand down.” Everyone looks at Adomis, baffled by his sudden decision not to take out their intruder, including both the General and Captain who look to one another. “My lord?” Tabius asks, seeking further clarification on the matter. “Sire, you can't be serious.” Khalan adds. But Adomis has his mind made up. “I said, stand down!” he repeats, this time a little louder, “All of you. Drop your weapons now.” At his command they all obey and there is a loud ‘clanking’ sound echoing throughout the courtyard for a few seconds until all weapons are lying on the floor. My heart drops with defeat as I look in desperation to the man I love. His expression shows just how sorry he is that things have come to this. That he is not holding me in his arms instead. Before I can think of something, a way to try and free myself, Ronaar speaks a strange language from behind me and a brightly glowing red dust begins to emerge from out of nowhere. My eyes widen with confusion and fear. Sweeping up through the air like a tornado, swirling around both my captor and I, the dust begins growing in quantity until we are completely surrounded by it. All I can see now is the endless sparkle of glowing red dust as it spins around and around us and I start to panic. “Adomis!” I cry out as loudly as I can. “Adomis, please help me!” But before I know it, the dust begins to slowly settle down towards the ground and I am shocked to see that my surroundings have somehow… changed? “What? Where am I?” I speak my thoughts aloud, not caring who hears them. Unfortunately, the one voice I would have rather not heard right now speaks up from behind me where he still stands holding onto my waist. “We’re far from the castle, so I wouldn’t bother trying to run. You won't make it too far.” He suddenly releases his grip on me and takes a step back. I watch as his current Overlord appearance suddenly melts away, revealing himself once more. Ronaar grins as he slides the dagger he’d just been threatening my very life with back into its matching sheath with little effort. “The other look suited you better.” I retort defiantly. I take a moment to look around at the view I now have from up here on the mountain. It appears that we are on some kind of a cliffside, overlooking the vast expanse of land for miles and miles in either direction. I can see several rivers, a large lake and a massive forest of trees nearby. Then I suddenly realise where we are. “We’re back in the Mountain Ranges.” “Very astute.” Ronaar remarks with a smirk. “Although I’d expect that from you. After all, you were able to tame the infamous Overlord with nothing but your charms.” I turn to face my kidnapper and really let him have it. ‘I’ve had enough of his s**t!’ “Listen, you egotistical, smug asshole! I don’t know what you plan is and what it has to do with me, Ronaar, but I can promise you this. I will never help you, do you hear me? In fact, I’ll make it my sole mission to make things as hard as possible for you the entire time. That I can promise you.” I feel both my fists clenched as they hang either side of my thighs. My eyes feel like they are burning with a fiery rage as I glare with such hatred and seething fury at him. “I can’t believe that I ever thought anything nice about you!” I look him up and down in disgust.  “You make me sick!” “I make you feel a lot of things.” he chuckles wickedly and I roll my eyes. “Seriously? You’re bringing that up again?” I snap. “You're such a child.” My hands move down to rest on my hips now. “Yes, you made me have an orgasm. Woop-dee-doo! Sorry, but I’m afraid they don’t give out medals for that. Time to grow up and move on you pompous prick.” “You’re only acting this way because deep down, you know you liked it.” he retorts, “Every single second of it-” “-f**k you!” “Perhaps... next time.” he counters, rather skilfully I might add. “If we get the chance for another round, that is.” ‘Damn him!’ It just makes me hate him that much more and I scrunch up my face and turn to face the other direction, choosing to put an end to this pointless squabble occurring between us. I take a deep breath in and slowly exhale, freeing myself from some of the built up tension and rage. This man is insufferable. And now I’m stuck out here, in the middle of nowhere with him. “Why did you bring me here anyway?” I ask, spinning back around to face him once more. I now notice that he is making his way across to the edge of the mountain’s rocky surface and I watch as he places his open palm onto it, closing his eyes. It’s as if he is trying to use powers to do something, though I’m not sure what it is exactly. “What are you doing?” I ask spitefully from where I stand. “Shhh…” he replies softly, still keeping his eyes closed as he concentrates on something. “Oh, I’m sorry. Am I bothering you by talking?” I tease him, my brows almost lifting off my face as I smile with delight. He remains silent, as if he can not hear me. Time to ramp it up a little bit then, I think… “I wouldn’t want to bother you, not when you’re doing something sinister like staring at a stone wall. I’m sure that the wall is wonderful at maintaining a conversation, probably has a lot of interesting things to say, hmm?” I watch but he does not reply, or turn around to face me. “You and the wall have a great time, I’m just gonna go and start making my way back to the castle, ok?” I turn and begin walking off to where I can see a steep pathway leading down the side of the mountain. The victorious smile on my face suddenly disappears as I am surprised from behind. A strong odoured piece of what feels like cloth is held over my mouth and nose, blocking off my airways and causing me to go into a panicked struggle. I try to scream but my voice is muffled by the cloth covering it. My eyes are wide as my hands claw at the strong hand holding the cloth over my mouth and I suddenly realise what is being done to me. ‘s**t, I’m being drugged! Does this even happen?’ “Mmmph!” I try one last time to scream out for help, but only muffled sounds escape once more. And to top of all off, now my vision is blurring like crazy. I can feel my eyelids are getting really heavy and my entire body suddenly feels as if I am unable to move it. I feel myself collapse into a pair of strong arms and after two more slow blinks I’m out like a light.
