Ronaar;
‘Come the f**k on!’
Not only am I right in the middle of something I’d consider rather important, but to think that some suicidal fool has the audacity to come and interrupt me at such a late hour?
Whoever it was I didn’t care; I was prepared to rip his f*****g head off!
“Just ignore it.”
Ivy tried to calm me with her hand against the side of my face.
“They’ll go away.”
Gritting my teeth, I closed my eyes and scrunched up my face in seething anger.
‘BANG, BANG, BANG!’
Three more knocks at the door and this time they were much louder.
Now I was pissed!
Ivy furrowed her brows, watching as I climbed off both her and the mattress, before marching across the length of the chamber towards the doorway.
My fists were both clenched at either side of me and my eyes glaring daggers at the wood separating me and whoever was on the other side of it.
My robes swayed from side to side by each of my ankles and although I wore nothing else beneath it, I felt as though my skin were burning with rage as I stopped before the door.
-
Ivy;
After readjusting my nightgown to once again cover myself, I sit on the mattress watching as Adomis finally reaches the door. He’s clearly furious at whoever would be foolish enough to interrupt us.
I can only hope that I am able to talk him about of murdering the poor fool on the other side.
Biting my bottom lip in suspense, I watch as he lunges for the handle and wrenches the door wide open with one strong pull…
My eyes search for someone… anyone standing on the other side but can not find anyone as expected. I frown and sit up straighter as Adomis moves through the doorway and continues his search for the mysterious door knocker.
But there’s nothing… No one.
A strange chill suddenly runs over the surface of my skin and causes me to grab the blanket beside me. I lift it up to cover my chest as I continue watching Adomis as he searches pointlessly for a culprit.
Eventually he turns back to face me and shrugs his shoulders.
“There’s no one here.” he announces across the length of the room separating us whilst shaking his head in anger.
I turn my head as I notice a faint purple glow coming from an article of Adomis’ clothing hanging over the back of a chair. Narrowing my eyes, I call out and point with my finger.
“Adomis, something’s glowing?”
He turns his gaze towards the glowing shirt and quickly rushes over towards it. Frantically reaching around to locate the correct pocket, he eventually pulls out something which is emanating a bright purple light. It’s circular in shape, but I can’t see much else due to the brightness of the light its projecting.
As he stares at it, his expression suddenly changes from one of anger, to one of… fear?
I’ve seen a few things since first arriving in this strange new world, but Adomis, afraid of something? In all the time I’ve known the man I’ve not once seen him afraid of anything.
“Something’s wrong…” he mutters softly, lifting his gaze to meet mine.
I am suddenly alerted by Adomis who lets out a pained cry as he is somehow lifted by an unseen force and thrown across the length of the room, his body hitting the stone wall hard with a grunt before falling down to the ground.
The glowing object falls from his hand and rolls a short distance away before stopping.
“Oh my god, Adomis!”
I quickly climb off the bed and begin to run toward him when I am suddenly halted in my tracks by an eerily cold breeze that instantly surrounds me. I am panting heavily as fear consumes me within mere seconds.
‘Why am I so afraid all of a sudden?’
With every breath I exhale I see a cloud of white smoke exiting my mouth and I am stunned by this strange abnormality.
I watch helplessly as a thick blanket of black smoke forms right before me, circling high up towards the roof of the chambers and blocking off my pathway to Adomis.
Eventually, the smoke begins to clear revealing an extremely tall, darkly dressed figure standing in its place. The figure appears to be wearing a long black robe, with a large hood resting over the top of his head as he slowly turns around to meet my terrified gaze.
I gasp as I see his facial features for the first time.
‘Oh s**t… he’s not human!’
His skin is pale, as white as snow and he has strange black tattoo-like markings around both of his eyes and over his lips.
And those eyes… they are hauntingly hypnotic. I find it difficult to tear my gaze away from them as I stand staring back at him, completely frozen in fear and too afraid to run.
My level of fear only intensifies as he suddenly begins to move towards me, with one large step after the other. He makes no sound, which is baffling but the last of my concerns right now.
As he moves towards me, I take equal steps back in an attempt to maintain the distance between us. My hands feel blindly for anything that may be behind me as I move, one terrified step at a time.
I can’t help but whimper as my hands suddenly touch the solid surface of the wall behind me and I realise I have run out of space. There is no room left for me to run!
I push myself up against the wall so that my back rests against it as I helplessly watch him step closer and closer towards me.
My eyes dart for a moment over his shoulder and see that Adomis is still out cold on the floor on the other side of the room.
‘s**t!’
“Adomis!”
I call out for him, obvious terror in my tone of voice as my brows furrow in together.
“Adomis, help me please!”
-
Adomis;
I’m struggling to allow all the new information I’ve just been given to properly sink in. After having the situation explained to me by the Ancient Ones, I am also trying to understand why they would choose to bring me here and impart all their supreme wisdom upon someone like me at a time like this?
How in the world could I possibly help them with such a serious problem?
“Let me get this straight… You, the Ancient Ones are responsible for watching over all that is, of maintaining the balance between good and evil. You watch over us and intervene only if it is ever necessary… am I on the right track so far?” I question while pacing back and forth in front of their podium, patiently awaiting a response from them as I do so.
Their leader nods his head once in response to my query and I continue.
“Now, there were once five of you, that is until one betrayed the others and was henceforth labelled as the Dark One and cast out.... and this Dark One, he is on his way to our world now, with the intention of locating some sort of chosen one?”
“The Creator.” I am corrected by the female on the far right.
“Right. Creator.” I correct with a roll of my eyes at the mistake.
“And if this Dark One manages to find this Creator, what then?” I enquire, stopping to face them.
Their expressions are serious now as their leader suddenly stands and makes his way back down to where I stand once more.
When he reaches where I stand he stops and looks me deep in the eye before answering.
“The Creator was made to maintain balance between both sides, Adomis. Without its existence, chaos in turn would ensue. Not only your world, but countless others would be cast into an endless darkness, one the likes of which you could never possibly imagine.”
I swallow nervously and frown at the thought.
“So, this Creator… he’s pretty important then huh?” I quirk a brow at him and in turn receive a smirk from the Ancient One.
“Yes… she is.”
My brows suddenly furrow at the new information.
“She? As in it’s a woman? The Creator is a woman?”
Once again, he nods his reply.
I take a moment to allow this to sink in now. But what the Ancient One says next really shocks me to my very core…
“You’re actually rather familiar with her, Adomis. The two of you are bonded, after all…”
My eyes widen and my jaw drops at the realisation of what he was insinuating.
“No…”
He nods.
“Yes, Adomis…” he pauses with a smile before adding, “Ivy is the Creator… the Dark One comes for her.”
