“Welcome! Come in, come in!”
The jovial voice came from a tall dark-skinned man standing near the center of the tent. He grinned broadly and motioned for Mina to enter. She glanced around the tent and spotted the source of the pull. It was a dragon, but it was the smallest one she’d ever seen. It was curled up on a rug, but it snapped its brass-colored head up and gazed at her as she stepped inside.
wasLord Klodian and one of the guards followed her, and she guessed the other one was standing watch outside. Klodian looked at the dragon first, then to the merchant. Mina was confused. The dark-skinned man didn’t appear to be afraid of the beast. It was roughly the size of a horse, but still … it was a dragon.
“You come looking for spices, yes? I have many to choose from.”
