Mina walked with hesitant steps into Lord Klodian’s personal chamber. He’d summoned her, and she wasn’t sure if that was a good thing. She’d saved his life, true, but since he was a Dominion Lord, he owed her nothing. It was a miracle that he had granted her anything at all, but she felt confident that she’d used her favor toward a good purpose.
Lord Klodian was at his desk, flipping through parchments and muttering to himself. Mina stood to the side and waited, but he was completely enveloped in his work. She didn’t want to interrupt him, but he had asked her to come to see him. Her palms were sweating with her nervousness, and she cleared her throat.
