Mina sat in the cave’s entrance in front of a small fire, staring off as her thoughts led her on a wild ride, her dinner long since cold. She wasn’t the only one bonded to a dragon now. The thought didn’t sit well with her, but only because Caden’s dragon was evil. The thing that bothered her the most was that he’d tried to convince her to join the wrong side.
Was it her fault? She had been the one to get Lord Klodian to send him away, after all. Yet, while that was true, she didn’t control his thoughts and actions. He had chosen to follow Lireth, to align himself with darkness. No, she decided, it was not her fault. Gedrith told her that Lireth was deceptive, and Mina was convinced that the dragon had bonded with Caden without his knowledge.
