“I’ve never felt this relieved and great to apologize to someone.” Tristan said, shutting the door to the hotel room and switched the lights on.
“I’m glad you shared your pain with me. You’ve been holding onto it for way too long. She’s probably happy with someone else, and has a good baby while you still hold on to the past.” I turned to him.
He stared at me poker-faced for a few seconds then chuckled, walking to the bed.
“Where were you? I was worried.”
“Just roaming around, going to different clubs— a lot of men flirted with me, some of them were really hot.” I smiled.
A frown formed on his face but he didn’t say anything, only taking out our pajamas from the wardrobe, throwing mine to me.
“You should have a bath, I’ll order dinner for us then we can—”
“Watch a movie?”
“I was going to say go to bed but that’s fine too, I guess.”
I grinned, already loving this newly born Tristan.
Without wasting any more time, I rushed to the bathroom with the pajamas and my phone, locking the door.
I called Charlotte’s phone and she answered after the third ring.
“Hey, what’s up.”
“Hi. I couldn’t continue your plan of insisting on making him fall for me. I lost interest in him—”
“How dare you?!” she screamed.
“Calm down and listen. I decided to let him be and maybe even get a divorce, but he became so desperate and he apologized, shared his problems with me and agreed to start a fresh relationship as friends first.”
“Tristan apologized to you? I know Kye talked to him but he apologized?!”
“Yes, he did. We’re about to have dinner and watch a movie.”
“Tristan never agrees to watch a movie with someone, he never watches any movie. You must have offered him your arms, eyes, and your entire life for him to control.”
“He agreed easily.” I shrugged.
“Wow, you’re so lucky… please ensure your relationship with him blooms till forever. I definitely want to be an Aunt to your babies soon.” She giggled.
Aunt? This woman. “Okay, I have to go now. Bye.” I ended the call.
After my bath, I slipped into my pajamas, tied my hair up then left the bathroom.
The lights except the very dim ones were turned off with two of the large red pillows on the floor and the large television screen on the wall opposite the bed was turned on.
“This is cute.” I sat on the bed beside Tristan.
We had dinner first then watched different romantic movies for a while before Tristan fell asleep first then I turned off the television and slept beside him for the first time since last week.
I was more than glad he apologized and admitted he had feelings for me. I couldn’t wait to venture into this wonderful journey and make him love me as much as I love him.

“Tristan, when are we returning home?” I asked Tristan who was paying so much attention to his laptop, his face was twisted into a weird facial expression. “Tristan,” I called again, snapping my fingers in front of his face.
He shuddered, his face becoming blank. “Uh … sorry, Hazel. I was lost in thoughts. You said something?” He turned his gaze to me, shutting his laptop.
“When are we returning home?” I repeated, taking a seat beside him.
“You want to return home?” He seemed like he wanted to frown but was stopping himself from doing so.
“Yes, I miss my country and other things.”
“I also have a lot of work to do, I have a company to run but it suddenly feels like our honeymoon just started.” He dropped his laptop on the table, shifting closer to me.
“We can return home and still have our honeymoon.”
I immediately felt like I had just said the world’s most stupid sentence due to the way he stared at me.
“Why do you want to return home so quickly? Do you have a boyfriend waiting for you there?”
“Yes, and he’s desperate to see me.” I rolled my eyes.
He raised an eyebrow at me.
Remembering Lucy and what she had caused to his trust life, I widened my eyes, shaking my head excessively. “No, no, I was just kidding. It’s nothing. I just really want to return to work and be home again. I don’t have any boyfriend, it’s you I love, just you.”
He chortled. “I could tell that was a joke, silly.”
Silly? Why did that sound really cute to hear him say?
He sighed, resting his head on my shoulder. His head on my shoulder was uncomfortable in a really good way, it felt like a new feeling I was going to get used to, it felt relaxing.
“How long have you been in love with me?” He placed a stress on 'in love'.
“Uh… I don’t know.” I replied.
“I shared my secrets with you but you can’t do the same?” He held my hand, drawing circles on my palm. Waves of pleasure were being sent to my body from his gentle touch.
“I–it’s a different situation.”
“How?” He raised his head from my shoulder.
“I— I— I don’t—”
“It’s fine, you’ll let me know when you want to, right?” He asked and I nodded. “Fine, we'll return home in less than a week from now.”
“That sounds great.” I smiled.
“Okay, I’ll let Rob know.” He reached for his laptop.
“Let’s go on a dinner date tonight?” I asked.
He held my hand again. “No, a walk now, just a nice walk.”
“Aren’t you working?”
“I’m always working, so I can always take a break.”
He was willing to take a break for my sake? Wow, that was so sweet of him.
“To be sincere, I missed you. I don’t know why and how but it didn’t feel right that you were being so cold to me. I felt…” He pursed his lips, rising to his feet. “I shouldn’t speak too much so I don’t embarrass myself.”
Where had this sweet Tristan been hiding my whole life?
