6.1 Masked General (22)

In a certain area nearby the State of Zhao, by a recluse forest with a small pond, there is a young girl wearing a skirt and blouse, lying on the green lush ground. Dong Li Hua's eyelashes fluttered as she turned her head sideways.

"Damn..." she cursed, knowing that she just touched the bracelet she deserted for two years. Dong Li Hua slowly sat up when she noticed a sparkling silver object by the pond's grassy waterfront. Her heart raced to see the a silver color and thought it was the bracelet since its no longer around her wrist. She reached out for it but someone already grabbed it before her.

She froze on her spot, there is another person here with her? Dong Li Hua slowly raised her head when her eyes almost popped out fo its socket. The other person is a man, n***d inside the pond while half of his body is staying out on the water surface. He is crossing his arms at her, a silver mask covering the upper part of his face. Dong Li Hua now knew what was the silver object she tried to snatch. However, why did that stupid bracelet brought her here where a man is currently bathing?! Is it trying to get her killed? (-᷅_-᷄)

"Green eyes...?" the man's deep soothing voice resonated. He seemed to have realized something but he chose not to speak.

"Uh... I think I should go... Forget that you saw me!" Dong Li Hua stood up quickly and scurried away as fast as she can but that lean and taut abdomen made her blush fervently. Dear Buddha, she has not seen anything like than in person. She doesn't even know if its a blessing or not, either to laugh or cry! Hiding behind a robust peach tree, Dong Li Hua decided to wait for the man to leave then she will look for that hateful stupid demonic awful dangerous annoying whatsoever bracelet. "The bracelet. I should find it after he leaves." she thought.

The ruffling of clothes reached her hearing, Dong Li Hua waited for few seconds in silence and glanced at the pond's area. The masked man is now wearing a black martial suit before he reached over a rock where he placed his coronet. Swiftly tying his hair upward, he used the coronet to hold it up then secured it with a hairpin for keeping it still. The masked man also took a sheathed sword behind the rock and tried to leave when he came to a halt.

He bent down on the grassy place and picked something. Dong Li Hua felt like fate is strangling her time and time again. The bracelet...the bracelet ended up in the man's hand! Should she show up or not? It's all up to Batman then.

"Are you purposely watching me?" the masked man tilted his head sideways and gazed at her in a half-lidded way, his tone full of indifference.

"Watching you?!" Dong Li Hua gasped. "That bracelet is mine, give it back." stepping out of her hiding place, she showed a ferocious look but the man is unmoved since she is not even threatening but more like a harmless weak girl.

"Its quite pretty." he ignored her glare then openly placed the bracelet in his robe. Dong Li Hua was left speechless for what he had done.

"Hey! I said its mine! Mine, alright?" she rushed in front of him and spreads her arms to stop him.

"I know." he simply glanced towards her lazily which ignited her annoyance.

"Then give it back." Dong Li Hua took a step forward to snatch the bracelet from his robe, she ignored the fact she is like a p*****t pouncing on him, even had the guts to glare at him for the millionth time in anger.

"Why?" the masked man innocently blinked his eyes as his lips tilted into a seductive arc. This made Dong Li Hua subconsciously gulp and unknowingly fell for his intoxicating spell. Fortunately, she regained her senses.

"Because its mine so give it back, will you?" she suddenly had the urge to throw a rock to him. Can he understand human language or not?

"Was it? Don't you know the phrase 'finder, keeper'?" he let out a slight chuckle then tried to move to the side but Dong Li Hua blocked him.

"Please return the bracelet. Its important to me." Dong Li Hua pleaded.

"Your name." he used a tone that is quite commanding. The masked man swept his gaze over Dong Li Hua before staring back to her green eyes.

"Dong-" she went to a stop. Dong Li Hua silently set her eyes on him, he has fine youthful features with naturally curving thin pinkish lips and a pair of deep inky black iris. She is unable to look away from them, once again sinking further as she got enchanted. "Dong Lizi. What-what about yours?" thankfully, she snapped out of it and avoided his gaze as her face lit up in shame.

"Dong Lizi? Heh." he lightly smiled. "Ancestral name is Huang, given name Zhao. If you want this bracelet, do as I say and follow me to Xinzheng."

"How...how shameless! It belongs to me!" Dong Li Hua grabbed his collar to take the bracelet back but he decisively pushed her hand away and turned sideways. She was stunned, about to fall on the ground when an arm held her waist and pulled her upward. Before she can say another word, Dong Li Hua found herself in his embrace. "Let me go." she bellowed, gritting her teeth and looking up at him with a hostile glare.

"General-" a soldier appeared nearby. He halted upon seeing the scene in front of him.

"I said, let me go." Dong Li Hua ignored the soldier, whispering her threat to the masked man.

"That wont do." he wrapped his other arm around her shoulder then turned towards the soldier. "What are you doing here?"

"Ehm... G-General Meng Tian asked for your presence, Sir."

"You wont let go, huh." Dong Li Hua thought then bit his wrist but a hard object is protecting it. "Ow! My teeth!" she loathed.

"Stupid." the masked man let out a short laughter. He trains martial arts and wearing a bronze or even silver wristband is a common defense so she bit on it instead. That surely hurts, ah.
