Austin's POV:
Toby and Macy still don't talk with each other. I know that Ally feels horrible, but they have to solve their problems before talking to us. It's not like I am ok with this, but I can't stand them arguing. Even Ally and I haven't argued that much. The benefit from all of this is that Ally and I are getting close. We are getting it slowly, but right now, it's not the moment for us to get back together. Especially when our friends are in this situation. I have to say that I agree with Ally about one thing. Macy needs to make a mistake so she can understand why Toby is always around her. I don't think that she realizes what type of person she has by her side. They are only best friends, or at least, that is what Macy told us. I think that Toby might have a crush on her, but I'm not sure. They need to fix their relations. I still regret what I said to Ally that day and I don't want them to feel the same. I can talk with each one of them, but I don't think that they will listen to me. Well, Toby might do it, because when I talk with him, he always listens to what I say. At least Ally is helping me. Otherwise, I don't think that I could deal with them. Let's hope that at the end of the day their relations will be fine.
Today is our last day with our old friends. Tomorrow they have to go back to their university. I guess that the vacation was short. I looked up to see that Ally was laying in her bed. She looked at me and we made eye contact. Both of us smiled at the same time. I want to get out of my bed and go to hers, but I won't do it. Instead, I got up and went to get ready. When I walked out of the bathroom, I saw that my roommate was sleeping. How did she fall asleep so fast? I walked up to her and slightly rubbed her cheek. I saw a smile on her face, which means that she wasn't sleeping at all.
I woke Ally up and she went to get ready. Later we'll go out with her friends. We don't have plans, so I guess that we'll decide everything when the time comes. I have to say that Ally and I don't know every single place in the town, so I will suggest to them a place which we know. When both with Ally were ready, we walked out to wait for our friends. Soon they came all dressed up.
- For what is the glam? - Ally asked
- Well, this is our last day here, so we want to get out of here in style. - Jasmine answered
- Oh boy. Please kill me.
- I will gladly do it.
- Austin, don't play with fire.
- Why? Because it's hot.
- Let's just go.
All of us walked to a diner. It was almost lunchtime, so we decided to eat there. Both with Ally woke up late, so we would skip breakfast. I have to say that the girls ordered a lot of food. Well, except my roommate. Usually, when a girl eats a lot it means that she is pregnant, but I don't think that any of them is. Maybe I haven't seen them for a while, and that's why I think like that. Ally can tell me more.
- Ally. Hey. - I whispered
- What?
- Is it me or your friends are eating a lot?
- Yeah, I have noticed that. I don't know what the reason is.
- They are not pregnant, right?
- What? No, or at least I don't know.
- Ok, good.
- Girls, can I ask you something? I hope that you won't get offended.
- Sure. Go on. - Charlotte said
- Why are you eating so much? In high school, you two barely eat whatever it is? You are not... um... you know...
- What? Ally, we are not pregnant. How could you think like that? - Jasmine said
- What else could I think? I haven't seen you eat so much.
- I have an explanation. - Jake said
- What is it? - I asked
- Well, since they came to university, their appetite got bigger. Maybe it's because of the change in the climate.
- I don't know what it is, but I need food, and I won't stop eating until I am full. - Jasmine said, which made us laugh
- Ok, maybe I shouldn't ask.
- Don't worry. We noticed that as well. - Dani said
At least it wasn't only me. The afternoon we spent in a park talking and eating ice cream. Some people looked at us, or to say at our overdressed friends. I didn't do anything and pretended that I didn't know those people. It's not like this will help me. I thought that they would want us to go to a fancy place, but no. Maybe they left this for tonight. Ally and I haven't been to any nightclubs, and I don't even know where they are. I don't like these places. There are always drunk people who try on innocent girls. Yes, I said girls, because mostly they are the victims.
For dinner, Ally and I decide to take our friends to a restaurant. Since they have already dressed up, at least we can take them to a place where their clothes won't be that noticeable.
- This place is amazing. Have you been here before? - Jasmin asked
- No, this is our first time. - I said
- You need to go out more often.
- We go out. How you can see the whole day we were with you. - Ally said
- I mean to go out alone.
- Why? We have classes, and during the other time, I want to study and take a rest. Most of the time, this means taking a nap. - Ally said, chuckling
- She sleeps a lot. - I said
- Not more than you.
- Well, I love to sleep. Is it a crime?
- No, it's not.
We ordered food, and soon it came. I have to say that the girls ate a lot again. Both of them looked at Ally when she finished with her dinner. Maybe she is eating less. I don't know what to say. After all, I don't want to offend anyone. I have to say that my friends have changed as well. Now, they don't look like the teenage boys that they were. Both of them look protective, just like me. The difference is that I don't do it anymore. Ok, I do it secretly. Ally and I are not dating, so she doesn't need to feel like I am cutting her wings. I won't help her until she doesn't ask me, or she gets in huge trouble. Luckily, up to now, everything was ok.
After dinner, the girls wanted to go for a drink. I hope that none of them will get drunk. We walked to the nearest bar. Some people were probably on their fourth or fifth shot. As long as we stay away from them, I am good. It's not like the boys and I won't defend our girls, but I prefer us to have a calm night. When the time to pay came, I looked at the boys. We will pay for the drinks, but I'm glad that Ally wasn't drinking that much. The decision was everyone to pay for their girl and themselves. I have to say that I paid less.
Later, we walked around. All of us walked by a nightclub when I saw two people. Aren't that Toby and Macy? What are they doing here? I guess that we'll find out.
- Hey, aren't these our friends? - I asked Ally
- Yes, they are. Let's go.
We walked up to them and saw that Toby wasn't ok. I guess that my friend had a punch in the face. I wonder what has happened. On the bright side, they might make up.
- OMG! Toby, what happened to your face? - Ally said and put one of her hands on his cheek
Seriously? He is fine. I have been worse. I guess that I wasn't that important.
- Don't worry about me. You need to take care of someone else. - he said, chuckling
Ally looked at me like she was going to kill me. I'm sorry, but what do you expect from me? I'm not ready to let her go with someone else. It's not like I will tell her that.
- Man, what happened? - I asked
- It's my fault. I got in trouble, and he came to save me. I called both of you, but no one picked up the phone. - Macy said
- Oh, I'm sorry. We were in a loud place, and I didn't hear my phone.
- I thought that you wouldn't talk with me.
- Hey, even if this is kind of true, I would never let you get in trouble. - Ally said
- Really?
- Yes. Now, let's go to university. The nurse will take care of him.
Someone will ask which university has a nurse, but ours does. For cases like this one. I don't know what has happened, but I expect Toby to tell me. I told the girls that the boys and I would go with him. When we are ready, we'll come to our dorm. While we were waiting, I made him tell me everything.
- Don't you want to tell me something? - I asked
- Ok, fine.
- What happened?
- For some reason, our girl, Macy, decided to show me that she is a big girl and went to a bar. For her luck, some drunk people tried on her. She quickly went into the bathroom and locked herself in one of the cabins. She called me, but I told her that since she is a big girl, she can deal with this herself. The truth is that I quickly tracked her phone and found where she was. I won't leave her alone even if we are in a situation like ours. I knew that after some time she would call me again. I just waited for the right time to go inside and get her out of there. Sadly, one of the guys didn't want to let her go, and I had to do something. The rest of the story is visible.
- Does this mean that everything is good between each other?
- I think so. Macy looked upset about what happened.
- She is a girl. What do you expect? To be happy. - Jake said sarcastically
Soon, the nurse came and took care of him. All she did was put an ice bag around the eye and later some cream. She told him to come here tomorrow so she could check on him. After that, we went to my dorm. The girls were already there talking. In the moment Macy saw Toby, she ran up to him for a tight hug. I guess that everything is ok between them.
- Never do this again. - Macy said
- It's not a big deal.
- Yes, it is. Did you know how I felt? What if he has beaten you up?
- But he didn't.
- Yes, thank god.
- Relax. Nothing bad happened.
- Do you even take anything seriously? You know what? Forget it. I don't care - Macy said and left
- Here we go again. I will go. See you tomorrow, guys.
- Bye, Toby. - I said and he left
- Will they ever stop arguing? - Dani asked
- Honestly, I don't know.
- I think that we should go home. I am getting tired. - Charlotte said
- After so many drinks, I will be as well. - Jake said, chuckling
- Very funny.
- Ok, friends. We might come tomorrow to say goodbye. - Jasmine said
- We'll wait for you. Give us a call when you are here. - Ally said
- Yeah, we will. Bye, Ally. Bye Austin.
- Bye girl.
Like that, everyone left. The ones who stayed were Ally and me. At least we can have some peace. Ally went to her bed and laid on it. It's visible that she is tired. Well, not only her. I tried to do something to see her reaction. I walked to her bed and laid next to her.
- Um... what are you doing?
- Laying on the bed.
- Don't you have your own?
- I like this one more.
- I'm sorry, but it's mine. I have asked you which one you want and you chose the other one. Now, get up and go to your bed. I don't want you here.
- I didn't know that you were so cold.
- Look, I am tired and I want to sleep. We can play games tomorrow.
- If that's what you want. - I said and got up
- I didn't want to offend you.
- No, it's ok. I know that you don't want me to be here.
- It's not that. You can stay here for a while, but later you will go to your bed, ok?
- I understand.
I put on my PJ and laid down next to her. I know that she is feeling a little bit uncomfortable, but she'll get used to this. After all, I won't do this every day. When she fell asleep, I walked to my bed. As I have said before, I would love to sleep with her, but now it's not the time. Moreover, Ally was feeling uncomfortable. Maybe I need to stop doing this. It's only making everything awkward. It's not like it wasn't already. Hopefully, in the future, all the awkwardness will be gone, and we can be happy again. Well, I am happy now too, but with Ally, things are different. She is making everything better. Let's hope that when I get ready to tell her everything, it won't be too late.
