Richard: Expression

1696 Words
The next day, while working in the company, I observed Vivian look by the time I came to check on her. She was my personal assistant at work while Dad had made me the young C.E.O. "Why the look? You look sad." I asked her. Vivian took her hands off the table and said. "I am scared." "Scared.?" I asked her with much concern, ready to know what was wrong with her, and tangled it with her. "What must the problem be? Please speak to me. Don't forget I love you." I said to her. "That's where the issue lies. You might leave me for Vivian. Dad and more won't allow this workout. Especially know that your inheritance has been tied to you making Sofia your wife," she said out of fear. I smile a little, then hold her hands. "No one has placed my inheritance with condition. Moreover, I haven't set my eye on Sofia; I can't say what nature she is. All I know is that my parents suddenly presented that to me. Please don't be scared. The more you say this. The more I got grabbed with fear. "We have gone a long way; we can bag out like that. I pleaded with her the more. Able to convince the moment I saw a smile on her face. About to kiss when the secretary knocked at the door. "I think the secretary is here." Vivian said to me. "Yeah, it is time for business; we need to face the business hour and let go the first in you, please." I kindly got the door opened as the secretary walked in to deliver the file. Back at home. While having dinner, Dad talked much about me seeing Sofia. He looked at Vivina with an expression and then said to her. "It is to you to understand that your big brother must take a wife; he needs to attach himself to the one I and your mother have chosen for him. That means you have to limit your ways of doing things with him." Dad said to her that almost got her crying. "Is everything alright, Vivian?" Mom asked her, seeing the expressions on Vivian's face. She was eating but not comfortable any longer. "My darling, is anything the matter? Do I sound hard on you.?" Dad felt guilty within him that he had to know Vivian's reason for not being happy. "I'm okay; I will be fine with it." Vivian reluctantly said. She tried eating, yet found it difficult to eat. "Excuse me." Vivian said. This caused commotion in the dining room. Dad and Mom, including I, got to know that she wasn't happy any longer. Mom, who had loved and cherished Vivian as her gender as well, couldn't bear it. She ran toward her just as I'm about to do that. "Vivian, please talk to me." Mom drew her closer to herself like a baby, in her mother's hands. I had no reason for such action. "I am fine, Mother." She answered Mom. But Mom wasn't so satisfied; she then needed to clear her curiosity. "I am not okay with this. I have to be frank with you, Vivian; this is the first day in your life you have reacted such to me. Is there anything you are hiding from me? Do you have feelings for your brother? Vivian's heart beat high the moment Mom asked her. "Are you jealous that he will be with another.?" Mom added. "Richard is always with you; he remains your brother, protector, and soldier. You don't need to be scared of losing him. He is always here for you. Mom adjusted. "Just as I have said, Mom, I am fine. I need to be left alone." She, Vivian, said to Mom. Mom couldn't leave; she was yet to know Vivian's reason for such a dramatic look. "You have to speak up, daughter; I am not getting it funny with you on this." Mom said to Vivian with much concern, as soon as I saw her expression, I knew she wasn't smiling anymore. Vivian noticed that and had to lie. "Mother, I felt jealous that my brother will be attached to someone else soon. He won't have my time anymore." Vivian lies; I concur immediately with her words, drawing closer with my hands on her lap. "Is that why you sound like a baby.?" I asked Vivian, knowing that she must have been pissed off with my words. She couldn't say anything, rather praying that Mom would leave so she could pour out her anger on me. Luckily, Mom just said a word. "Don't worry, we have someone for you. You both should sort yourselves out. And make sure you are fine, my darling." Mom stood and left, with the belief that I can convince Vivian better. "Do you love her.?" Vivian asked me aggressively. "You need to come down, my darling. I know it is all about me; why didn't I defend the love I have for you? Why didn't I say it before that I do not want Sofia but you.?" "You easily forget that I am a drama itself. I strike when it is time. The dining table isn't enough to display my action. " I replied to her with a calm voice. "I must have acted prematurely then." Vivian responded. "No, Vivian, that's not what I mean, it is not in line with my reason." I held her hands. "With the little I have known about her parents, I should be able to know what she might possess. A peacock can't give birth to a dove. This is my opportunity to downgrade Mr. Thompson and his family. Especially himself." I replied to Vivian. "I think you are lying to me. Mom is right when she said you will be attached to someone else soon. She wasn't wrong, and I know that mustn't be with me, not even for a day. You haven't given me a reason why I should trust you and hold to your words. Nevertheless, I love you, Richard; you are my dream, my everything." Vivian got me crazy with her words; I felt more in love with her. Feeling satisfaction with my love yet known to everyone as my sister. "Sometimes, I wonder why we met as siblings. I wished we would easily revise the case where we could meet as lovers at a start." I romanticized her, and Vivian felt happy within her. Yet she finds it difficult to believe me this time. Yet she wasn't ready to quit out. I couldn't even display my action at the moment; I needed to walk in between my parents when it was the right time. Vivian had to sleep all through on my chest, even though it wasn't comfortable with Dad any more. He had observed the familiarity as well. He knew what exactly had gone wrong. When I realized Vivian had slept off, I calmly laid her on the bed. And I had to go down to the sitting room, wondering how my life will end without Vivian. While walking down the stairs, I overheard my parents discussing. "If she found it so lonely, we would match her with someone. But she needs to find love herself." My dad said to my mom. "I would like Vivian to spend more time with me; she is more than a child to me. Remember, she is our daughter, by adoption, but has gotten our hearts due to her character. Dad felt sad about that, thinking Vivian had taken his place in my mom's heart. "You look jealous, my love. No one else has taken your place in my heart; I was trying to recap what had happened, reminding you that she is our favorite as well. " Mom replied. "She needs to understand what life is all about. Richard can't stay with her forever. And I think Richard is okay with our decision." Dad said. "Well, I can't say anything about this. Even if he does, it might be for his inheritance. Of which I am not in support. Our child's destiny can't be tied to marriage. We need to talk about this." Mom insisted. "It has to be that I have worked very hard for the growth of the company; he has to obey the rules, else I will lose it all. Moreover, I and Mr. Thompson have been friends for a very long time. I won't like our relationship to end without such a connection. Richard had to click to my instructions." Dad paused and continued. "Are you insinuating that our son is in love with Vivian? Is that why we told you .?" Dad asked. Mom, with a fast move, as she almost got scared, answered him. "No, I didn't say so. Neither do I make an attempt saying such words. I felt like pushing the door, just to cause a scene at the moment. Breathing down, I work fast to the sitting room, not minding what hour it was when I held my hands on one of the alcoholic drinks at the bar. And sipped more. "That is bullshit. That is stupid and wrong. Dad shouldn't have suggested that for me. My inheritance can't be tied to someone I do not know and do not have feelings for. I am in love with Vivian. I didn't mind or care what comes after it." I said so aggressively within me. As I smashed the glass of wine on the floor… "What is going on there in the sitting room? We need to check." Mom said to Dad. "That sounds strange." We need to know what's wrong. Within me I know Dad and Mom must have heard the sound. While nursing my worries, I had to walk my way to my bedroom without their notice. It was already strange as they couldn't know what had happened. Dad looked at Mom, same as Mom. They had to check on everyone; no one was missing on his or her bed, not even the house help. We were all on our bed and fast asleep, except for me, who had been pretending as well.
