The human knew what I was as soon as he laid eyes on me. He hadn't seen me with Caius the previous evening, but he knew a wolf when he saw one, and he was sensible enough to see me as a threat and not a potential conquest. He froze in his steps, looking desperately around for an escape in the bustling street as if I would shift forms and tear him apart in front of thousands of tourists.
