Scott looked up at Caius; he was shaking slightly and I wasn't convinced he was going to make it through the night, but he seemed to understand that trusting us was his only choice and he was willing to listen rather than acting as if Caius' unusual accent was impossible to understand. "What do I have to do?" he asked quietly. I wasn't entirely sure what the answer was going to be, but Caius was calm as he crouched facing Scott. "We need to restrain you," Caius said, his voice steady. "It's for your own safety." Scott tensed up at the word restrain, but he seemed to understand the reasoning behind it. He nodded slowly, and Caius gestured for me to help him. I bound Scott's wrists behind his back with the rope, wrapping it tightly enough to restrain him but being careful not to cut off
