Christine and I stared at Quinn as if he was a strange object. The revelation of the truth had been made clear to me, but I was struggling to deal with it. He betrayed his pack and is Alpha? Why? It didn't not make sense. Quinn glanced at us, focusing his gaze slowly on me and then rubbed the back of his neck.
"I told you about the darkness and guilt that haunted me, Gwen," he said. "That is what I faced . The guilt that has followed me and made me know nothing good is meant to happen to me."
"Quinn," I finally found my voice. "How?"
"I was born and in the red oak pack. I was the beta," he explained. "The whole thing happened after the war. You remember the last war".
