Kang Terry:
Kyla? Im sorry.
Kang Terry:
Don't forget to drink the tea I gave you.
Kant Terry:
Sleep early, okay? I'll talk to you tomorrow.
Terry couldn't sleep. He tried to apologize to her earlier at her house but Daniel told him she was asleep, giving him his strawberry milk. Good thing, Daniel isn't mad at him. He understood that Terry didn't mean to make Kyla upset. Terry's mom noticed, too, that it was the first time again he had been back home early and even with a sad face.
Terry couldn't just let go, he wanted to apologize. He sent her messages but she only left to read. Terry lay down on his bed, looked at the clock, and saw it was late. He sighs and looks at his phone again. His home screen wallpaper is a picture of Kyla that she took on his phone. She even made a wacky selfie of hers that he puts on his lock screen.
God, since when did his life revolve around her? His walls are empty, bare, and boring, his desk has a picture frame of her and somehow that seems like the color of it all. Maybe it's his fault, that he centered her around him, that he made her the reason for everything. Maybe he forgot that she couldn't do the same. They're best friends and he wouldn't have her look at him the way he does to her.
That he couldn't afford to see her go with someone else, someone to spend her time with, play games or play music with her or go home together. "Terry, you're so stupid," he told himself. He was holding his phone and opened it up, going through messages.
Kang Terry:
Hello Steven, do you have a prom date already?
Would you say yes to Kyla?
And he sent the message. He was about to add more when suddenly a caller, I.d, appeared and it was Kyla, with the custom ringtone just for her that Terry had input. He accepted the call.
"Terry?" her voice seemed like she was crying or maybe it was because it started raining earlier.
"Ky," he calls, "Are you alright? You were supposed to sleep."
" You're still worried when we just..." there was a pause. "Terry, what do you think of me?"
"H-huh?" is he even hearing this? Did she just ask him what he thought of her? Does she know that's something she shouldn't ask? because there's so much to answer and it could give away that he loves her. "Why are you asking?"
"I want to know..."
"Well, I think you're such a crackhead," he started and could already tell that Kyla went sulking as if this answer was not what she was asking for, "You're clumsy sometimes, you like cute things, you're. Kyla.. you shouldn't ask me this, I'd have so much to say."
"Like all the bad side of me?"
"It's not a bad side of you, it's something that adds up to you. I like the way you act so shy when there are so many strangers and so bold when it's just us two, like when you imitate Daniel when he raps and stuff, sometimes I just get a second embarrassment from you when you suddenly naruto run on the streets," he continues with a smile.
"Terry!" he heard her laugh and it was nice to hear it.
"But I think of you so beautiful, no matter what. I'm sorry about earlier. I didn't mean it like that. I just don't... I just can't see you hurt by someone else," he could feel his heartbeat, he could confess right now. But he knows he shouldn't. Not when the misunderstanding of earlier, has now cleared up. They both wouldn't be mad at each other. If it never happened.
"I know I'm sorry too, Terry, I acted so immaturely. I know you just want me to be happy and I'm happy with you, Terry." Terry smiles, holding onto his phone. He looked at his window and saw the window across his house with its light turned on.
He heard her sob suddenly, "It has always been my fear that no one would like me because I'm like this, but you always make me feel special." she continues "When Ben bullies me for my height, you'd always make sure to always say that my height is fine and that it doesn't matter or something to be insecure about, when everyone was talking behind my back you came to comfort me and take me away,"
" You even bought me tea because you said it would help me fall asleep and I just realized that... wait is that you who threw a rock at my window?" Terry looked up when Kyla finally opened her window. Kyla was cold outside and a little rain was pouring still, but he waved at her with a smile.
"Terry! It's raining! Wait, I'll come down." and she hangs up the call. Terry held his arms since it was so cold outside and he was wearing his pajamas but it was alright.
When Kyla finally got down and opened the door she pulled him inside. "Mom and Daniel are sleeping, let's go to my room." and they both went upstairs to her room.
"Why did you come here? It's raining, now you're soaking! I have a hoodie here.." she opened her closet and searched for some hoodies. Terry pulled his shirt off before taking the hoodie from her hand. She was facing away and blocking her eyes, making him chuckle before wearing the black hoodie with a heart design on it and it fitted him.
" I'm done," he said, and she turned around, still blushing. "Thanks."
" You're welcome.. so why are you here?"
"I just want to say sorry personally about earlier."
" I forgive you, it's not that too much anyways... I could never get mad at you."
"Of course you love me," she hits his arm playfully and smiles. Finally, it felt so nice again that they were back even if it was nighttime and cold and Terry came even if it was raining. "I love you, okay?" he said, just because he wanted to remind her, that no rain or misunderstandings would stop him from her because she's worth it all.
and she went and hugged him and the cold was gone. She wrapped her arms around him and he hugged him back, "I will always be here for you Kyla if you fall or rise. I'm here for you and I shouldn't stop you, but you can always come back to me and I'll buy you ice cream."
"you sound like if im your baby,"
"You are," she tightened her hug and he smiled. They were not even letting each other go. They had both never made a small misunderstanding that this just, let them like this. they can't spend a day without each other and it's only been hours since that happened.
She pulled away, "Tomorrow, you're buying me ice cream," she said and Terry chuckled, nodding his head.
When Terry got home he checked his phone.
Chen Steven:
Yeah! I'd like Kyla to be my prom date. Should I ask her? since you two are close anyway.
