The week before Amir saw Jae again was torturous. Every time he looked back on all the red flags, their meaning became more obvious to the point where he wanted to kick himself for not noticing it sooner. There was also the fact that, other than being on the Pride Riders’ f*******: page, Jae hadn’t given anyone a way to contact him. Amir wondered darkly if Declan had forbidden him from doing so. He sent Jae several messages, but there was no indication that Jae read any of them.
