I walked back and forth in my room, unable to contact Emy, my best friend. "I hope Emy is okay." Staring at the phone screen repeatedly, but Emy didn't even reply to the messages I sent her from yesterday. "Gosh, I'm getting worried. Why hasn't Emy texted me back? Did something happen?" I can only guess, and worry even more. I unconsciously bit my thumb nail again because I was confused about how to find out Emy's news. "Should I visit her house? But it doesn't seem easy, Emy's family are respected people, unlikely to accept my unclear arrival." I bit my thumbnail again, my heart getting more and more agitated. "Daisy!" My mother's stern voice was so loud, it even made me tiptoe in shock. "What else? Why is that old man always so noisy?" I grumbled in annoyance as I was forced to open the bedroom door. When I opened the door, my mom was already in front of me with a smile on her face, making me even more confused. "Are you drunk again?" I quickly walked out of my mom's presence. "Oh my God Daisy. Why didn't you tell me you wanted to get married." My mom suddenly put her arm around my shoulders and acted friendly. I paused, "Enough Ester Anderson. Don't be nice, I'm tired." I immediately threw my mom's hand off my shoulder. I suspected that mom would ask for more money to get drunk and gamble. If it wasn't for my late father, I would have left this house a long time ago. I was really fed up with my own mother. "Hello Miss Daisy Anderson. We've come at the behest of Mr. Carlo." Several people dressed in all black were suddenly in my living room. I got even more nervous, and gawked for a few seconds at the arrival of several people dressed in black, also neatly. Then my gaze quickly shifted to a pile of brand-name items. "What is this? And this stuff? I think you've got the wrong address," I said, quickly turning around, as if I wasn't Daisy Anderson. "This is not right. This wasn't in the agreement, Mr. Carlo should have discussed it with me first." I unconsciously bit my lip and glanced at my mother who didn't say much. "What do you mean? They even got your name right," Ester Anderson couldn't accept the gift being taken back by its owner. She even fantasized about selling all the expensive items. "I said no, didn't I?" I raised my voice slightly and immediately told the men to leave. Bring back all the luxurious items. "Not now. Please." I whispered to one of them, desperately hoping that the men would understand the situation. "Daisy! What are you doing? They gave you a gift, why are you refusing!" Esther immediately prevented the men from bringing back all the luxury goods. She didn't want to lose the opportunity to earn a lot of money. "Sorry, we got the wrong address." One of them said that and quickly left. I could breathe a sigh of relief, not expecting Mr. Carlo's men to be so cooperative. Ester sat down limply, the image of a lot of money vanished instantly. She stared at the ki with a look of overwhelming anger. "You! What are you hiding from me? It's obvious that they mentioned Daisy Anderson's name, so why the wrong address? Is this your stupid game!" Ester came closer to me. She didn't hesitate to hit her only daughter. "Stop it, Mom. There's no way those are all gifts for me. I'm not in a relationship with anyone in this world," I replied tiredly and had no energy to deal with my temperamental mother. I quickly walked away from mom's presence, before walking into the room, clearly hearing my mom's angry snort. "I don't understand. I don't know when that old lady is going to change for good," I muttered and then went inside, still waiting for a reply to Emy's message, but there didn't seem to be one. "Ting!" A message arrived on my phone and I quickly checked who the sender was, I really hoped it was Emy. "New number? Who do you think?" My forehead wrinkled when I realized it wasn't Emy's name that sent the message, but a new unknown number. "Come immediately to Muli Corp. -Carlo." I blinked repeatedly, and reread the message, "Did I read it wrong? The ending says Carlo. Is he Mr. Carlo?" I was still gawking, as if I couldn't believe that the person who sent me the message was Carlo, the CEO of Multi Corp. "But what if it is Mr. Carlo?" I was getting more and more indecisive. Inside, I tried to believe that it was Carlo. I bit my lip, then took a deep breath. "I have to hurry. I'm sure it was indeed a message from Mr. Carlo." Immediately changed my clothes, and also did not forget to polish my face with light makeup. I ordered a taxi online, and immediately drove to Multi Corp."I hope today is the day I start work." I spoke to myself, trying to smile encouragingly at my nervous-looking self. I was already dressed like an official employee at one of the famous companies. "Miss, it seems you work at Multi Corp?" The taxi driver asked rather awkwardly. But trying to be friendly to his passenger. I smiled slightly, "Yes, you're right. I work there as a secretary." "Ah, of course. Look at your appearance. So neat and charming, that company is indeed very famous among other companies. You are very lucky, Miss." The driver glanced briefly at Eve, then refocused on the road. I only replied with a smile this time and didn't want to get into too much conversation about Multi Corp. "Here we are." The taxi driver stopped the car right in front of Multi Corp's entrance. I was a bit taken aback, apparently I had been daydreaming about a lot of things. Especially Emy, my best friend who I haven't heard from until now. I checked my cell phone many times, but she hadn't replied to any of my messages. "Thank you, sir." I quickly got off, and straightened my clothes a bit, then cleared my throat while heading towards the security guard on duty. I smiled kindly, "Sorry, sir. I was instructed to meet Mr. Carlo." I smiled and showed proof of the message sent by Carlo. "Please come in. Of course your arrival is awaited by Mr. Carlo." The security guard opened the door kindly. I exhaled heavily, "It's true that the one who sent me the message was Mr. Carlo." Being in front of the Multi Corp CEO's door made my heart race. Only a few seconds in front of the door, already making my hands wet with sweat. "Come on Dai, calm yourself down. Think of it as work." My heart was in turmoil, encouraging myself was not easy. I knocked on the door, then went inside. The first sight I saw was Carlo leaning on a big chair with his head up. My heart was racing, unconsciously gulping down my own saliva. Admiring God's creation that is so perfect is unmatched. "Are you done admiring my good looks?" Carlo suddenly opened his eyes. Staring intently at me, as if he was mercilessly stripping every inch of my body.
