Prologue

"Love is also part of the wonders of the world. It's so beautiful that no one can resist." I entered a cozy coffee shop and went directly to my favorite spot—the table overlooking the sea. By the time I sat down, Bella, the waitress, approached me with a charming smile. "Any order, Miss May?" She handed me the menu. I didn't bother to have a look in the menu. "My favorite Bella, the coffee with flavored cookies and cream and— " "Frappuccino" She guessed. "Yes, you got it Bella" I grinned at her. For the past two years, this place had become my beloved sanctuary. "Okay, Ms. May" She started to walked away when I called her. "And Bella, mocha this time" She nodded and give me her charming smile. How I wish I could have her smile — alluring enough it could tempt everyone to return their smile too. "Sure Ms. May. Give me 5 minutes" she walked away towards the counter. I turned my focus on the ocean outside. It's so peaceful today as if like it wasn't wavy the last time I came here.  Maybe Poseidon appreciate tranquility sometimes. I smiled with my own thoughts.  "Smiling alone is not a good view to see by everyone" I turned and saw Bella preparing my order in the table. "I think Poseidon decided to be harmonious this time" "I think he is." She nodded. "Call me, if you need anything, Ms. May" "Sure Bella. Thank you" I smiled at her. I started to have a bite on my cake and let my eyes roamed around inside the coffee shop. There were few costumers working on something while eating. Mostly, familiar faces I've seen when I came here. They were also regular costumers in the coffee shop like me. I concluded then.  My eyes went to the person who is about to enter the coffee shop.  I widen my eyes when I recognized  the man. I know him.   Him. I thought. I saw him again.  He looked sullen as he walked to the counter. Bella greeted him with her killer smile. However, even the charming Bella didn't makes her smile. He remained solemn when he said, "Frappuccino" Oh. "What flavor sir?" Bella asked. "Mocha" I raised an eyebrow. My gazed was still following him when he sat in his favorite spot — the table overlooking the sea. And yes, across of me. One table away. He seemed out of the  world like the first time I saw him here. I presumed he was deep in thought. So am I.  All these years, this coffee shop was favorite because I could write my novel with solace through its beautiful ambiance. But I can't find that solace anymore. I thought with wander as I turned my attention to the peaceful sea. Because of him. A bitter smile was formed from my lips.  "Are you alone?" I looked up, stunned. I was now making eye contact to the softest black eyes I've ever seen. My heart raced. Somehow beating to the familiarity of its home.  There was something about the intensity of his gazed that gives me enigmatic excitement. "Yes, I'm alone" I said. Almost stuttered. He sat across of me without asking my permission. "This is a beautiful place" he turned his gazed to the ocean "but sad" The soft black eyes I saw earlier looks watery as if he is about to cry. I saw pain. So much pain in his expressive eyes. He has been hurt. I don't know but it hurts me too. I heaved a deep sigh. "Maybe its sad in your own perspective because your are in deep sorrow" I suddenly said. I cursed myself when I realized what I had told him. He looked at me with creased eyebrows. Maybe he was confuse that somehow I know he was in pain. "The way we see things depend on our mood" I continued. "On what we feel deep inside" I touched my chest where my heart lays to demonstrate the realness of what I said. He looked at me with amusement, perhaps. I put my hand down and smiled lightly. Speechless of the look he gave me. He stared. I gazed. At that moment, it seems like we are invading the untold world.  Our world. Who would have thought that?
