Nathaniel's POV: I heard a crack as soon as I moved my neck, trying to get off the couch. Pain covered my entire body, but it was nothing compared to my crumbling insides. Still, pain was something I was willing to feel every second of my life if it meant keeping Kate by my side. Yet all I got was the pain only. Nothing but immense, insufferable pain. She never said a word after moving away from me and probably, letting me go forever. I could hear her sniffs all throughout the night as I tossed on the couch that was half my length.
