Mother and father...

Everyone's features were grim as they listened to Celeste and I explain a summary. We said that we'd go into detail when Beta Lily arrived, but if they looked like this at the summary... Could they handle the details? Silence fell upon the room as we were done. Gamma Chelsea heaved as if she were going to throw up her breakfast. Her husband, Evan, gently rubbed her back. A grimace and sickened look upon his own face. Luna Talia sobbed on the shoulder of her husband, who looked truly outraged. Who wouldn't be? To learn all of this was going on in your own backyard for upward of seven years? The smallest children were with staff in another room. All that remained were heirs, old enough to be privy to this information and even they looked horrified - Like they had never heard of such things in their entire life. Probably because they hadn't. All they had ever encountered were rogues.

Beta Lily walked in and I raised my head toward her as she asked what happened. Mabel took a seat with her father and I furrowed my brows at him. Jaxon shook his head "Even if I wanted Mabel to be in the other room, in my absence, this girl has already stumbled upon my research with Celeste and picked up from where I left off, much to her mother's displeasure..." Mabel nodded a very serious expression on her face for someone her age. It was obvious she had witnessed horrors she shouldn't have in her mission to find her father. Lily took a step forward, eyes scanning the room before they landed on the Alpha and Luna. "Before we begin...I'd like to ask for permission to adopt those two children".

Beta Lily bowed her head in respect and all but the six of us were shocked. Celeste spoke up for Lily, staring at the Alpha and Luna "It is written in Beta Lily's fate that she will be the mother of those two children, Alpha, Luna." I watched as Lily whipped her head at Celeste in confusion "How did you-" Celeste smiled "Divination. Given my position and power, I did a divination before I came here, and the Goddess allowed me to see. Perhaps it's due to my bond with Aradia that she allowed such a thing. But you and Beta Quinn will be the parents of Erebus and Aradia. I take it Artemis settled the issue of the poison, given that you're wearing her blessing".

Everyone turned to face Lily in shock, two marks resting upon her forehead - A blue line that intertwined with a black one. They soon faded, but the shocked expressions did not. Lily's father stood and crumpled his brow. "What poison? What is going on, Lily?" Lily sighed, taking a seat in one of the chairs. "Before that... Celeste. Are they who I think they are? Artemis and Hodr, I mean... Are they...?" Celeste nodded, her shoulders tensing. "Yes. Artemis and Hodr are the younger siblings of the moon Goddess, Selene. That is why you have two blessings. The Moon Goddess chose you as the perfect parents to raise Aradia and Erebus, but also to compensate you for the loss of your son. Hence, she gave instructions to Artemis to help you with the poison and let you know of the traitor. Honestly, I've never been privy to so much information before. Truly, it probably is due to my blood bond with Aradia."

Lily clasped her hands together, praying. She was probably thanking the moon Goddess. After a few minutes, Lily turned to her family and nodded "We have a traitor in the pack. Possibly more than one. I was told that the reason my son died was due to a poison and that it was still in my body, preventing me from conceiving. Artemis, praise and bless her, helped to rid my body of it while blessing me with protection. As did Hodr. Artemis is the wolf of Aradia and Hodr is the wolf of Erebus." Lorraine, Gamma Chelsea's mother stood and nodded "That explains the names of those children. Ah, not many would know, but we witches and warlocks make it a habit to research all Gods and Goddess'. Artemis and Hodr were the twin siblings of Selene. In age order, it was Selene, Apollo, Artemis, and Hodr. All three siblings heavily doted on Artemis the most, always giving their blessings to her even if she was a Goddess herself. Artemis was the most protected of all divine beings and, as such, never bothered to be trained or use her abilities because she didn't need to. Unfortunately, Artemis and Hodr were captured one day by a demi-God who was wiped from history, but Hodr protected Artemis so valiantly that he almost died. Artemis transferred all the blessings she had accumulated through her life to Hodr and released her untamed power upon the heavens. Zeus, sensing this, immediately gathered everyone to find the source of the outburst. When it came to finding them, the Demi-God was dead, as were his helpers, and Artemis and Hodr clung to life by a thread despite all of those blessings. Zeus destroyed the weapon used against the two by the Demi-God and every God that had ever known the twins gathered, blessing them all day every day and using their powers to give them new life along with their Godhood. Selene and Apollo were outraged and devastated. Swearing vengeance upon anyone who tried to even look at the two funny. Selene and Apollo decided to reincarnate the twins with their Godhood and abilities. However, it required the power of all the Gods and Goddess'. They were more than willing to do so for the twins because they knew if anyone deserved a second, third and even fourth chance, it was the twins. They were successful, and the twins were said to have reincarnated into the most powerful wolven family in the world every two hundred years. The royal family."

Silence fell yet again as we listened to the story, Celeste nodding in agreement. Luna Talia frowned "So, are you saying those children are from the royal family?" The Alpha shook his head. "There's no way. If two royal children were missing, the entire world would be on alert." Everyone nodded in agreement. It was true and besides that, Celeste didn't have any divination about their identity, so there's no way that these children could be from the Royal family. The Alpha put his hands up with a sigh "Slow down, what does this have to do with poison, a traitor and the names Aradia and Erebus?" Celeste stood to answer this one, my eyes following her as my wife clasped my hands, obviously dreading the outcome of this meeting. "So, in summary. Your Beta couple suffered the loss of their son at the hands of a traitor or possibly multiple in this pack. They used a poison undetectable to witches and wolves, which quite frankly, if it's undetectable by us, I'm not sure how we can detect it in the future... Regardless, the names Aradia and Erebus tie closely to the names Artemis and Hodr. Erebus was the secondary name for Hodr, the God of winter and darkness. While Aradia was the secondary name for Artemis, who was referred to as the Goddess of the Moon. Now, before anyone says anything, no, of course, she is not Selene. However, she does have the same powers as her older sister, among others. In some lore you'll find Artemis referred to as the Goddess of the hunt, wild animals, vegetation, chastity and childbirth, to name a few. Aradia is the name the witches use for the Goddess of the moon. She watches over the people, no matter their species, protects them and is the hero of all. Erebus in some lore is the epitome of darkness. Chaos. Corruption. Hodr is usually described as the God of Winter and cold weather, Darkness and shadows and warriors, to name a few. To put it simply, Aradia and Artemis, Erebus and Hodr...They are the reincarnated Goddess and God, younger twin siblings of Selene and Apollo.They go hand in hand with each other."

I watched as the Alpha placed his face in his hands. I decided to speak up, just in case anyone had been thinking it, "And I'd like to mention, just because of what the lore states, doesn't mean that Erebus and Hodr are villains or an evil God. Divine twins, when born, balance and complement each other. Erebus is the darkness that protects Aradia's light and vice versa." The Gamma couple sighed in relief, obviously having thought that perhaps Erebus and Hodr were a calamity.

The Luna stood and approached Lily, placing a hand on her shoulder "Even if it wasn't written in you fate, I agree that you should adopt those children. What say you, husband?" The Alpha nodded and I watched as Lily smiled brightly, grabbing her husband's hand who grinned in return "Well, Lily. It seems we're officially parents, finally!" The whole room broke into smiles. It was obvious that these two had desperately wanted children. A pity that their time was wasted with poison.

"We will think of a way to lure out the traitor...Until then, lets focus on telling Beta Lily what she missed" I said, looking at her with sadness in my eyes as I knew I would be destroying the happiness of these two newlymade parents. But at least...Aradia and Erebus now had a mother and father.
