Third Person POV
The kids entered the hall, their parents turning to look at them while they bounced in with a shy Reflyrsin. They watched as he also apologised to Lily and Quinn for the harm he caused their son. Lily rubbed her hand through his black hair "A warrior can be a deadly weapon. Use your fists to protect others and yourself." Quinn nodded in agreement, a hand placed on the boy's shoulder. Relf beamed and ran to his father happily, sitting beside him. Noros looked at her mother and told her the gifts had yet to be handed out, causing the Royals to perk out. Islara touched her own cheek in shock "Goodness, you're right! We were all so caught up that we forgot to give gifts". Thankfully, they all had the gifts on their person and Latla smiled at the twins, beckoning them over. "We were told that you're very selfless children who have gained a lot of wealth and decided to put it away for your future. In such a case, these gifts are from Cal and me" She handed over an envelope each to the twins who looked at each other before taking them. Upon opening them, they saw they were company certificates of ownership. "I already signed a contract over so that these two companies are yours completely, they have a contract signed with my own company and I have two people in each company taking care of it until you decide to take them over yourself and even then, you will have assistants to help you." The twins nodded happily, each giving Latla and Cal a hug and kiss on the cheek. Cal touched his cheek with sparkling eyes and turned to Latla "Yeah, lets defo have more kids!" Everyone burst out laughing, understanding the sentiment. Noros pulled a box from under the table and opened it. She handed Aradia a blue egg and gave Erebus a red one. "I'm not sure what they are. They're pretty mysterious. They were being sold at an auction as furniture but, being a Dragon, I could tell they were actual eggs. They will hatch, I just don't know when. Take care of them!" the twins smiled, Erebus especially cuddling his egg like it would be his best friend from now on. Dia walked over to the big Oak tree and placed it on his branches with a smile "You can watch my egg for me, right?" The Oak vibrated with joy at being given a task by Dia and she smiled, hugging him gently.
She swiftly ran back, seeing Erebus approach Ovion who had beckoned him over. He scooped up the twins with a grin, placing his forehead to Erebus' and whispering a thank you. Of course, the boy was confused "Don't worry, you won't know why I'm thanking you. Just know that you have completed my life and we will forever be grateful" Erebus gave him a grin while Lysia placed a kiss on each of the twin's foreheads. The twins happily sat on Ovion's knee, feeling the overwhelming affection from the little family. Ovion looked at Talane and she nodded in return "You have two gifts from the Elves. One is a joint gift. We've been able to tell since we first saw you that you have an Elven bloodline, so our joint gift to you both is to help unlock it. You won't notice any changes until you're sixteen, though." The twins looked excited and a few people at the table wanted to speak but refrained and sat in thought for a second. Ovion put a necklace around Aradia's neck that was made of Elven steel. It was just as strong as Dwarven steel, but half the weight. She looked down at the pendant and saw a name carved into it. Ovion did the same for Erebus and the boy looked at Dia after seeing a name carved into his own pendant "These are your Elven names. But, only you can see them. Wait until you're sixteen, and then come and introduce yourselves to us again, alright?" The twins nodded with a smile, tucking their pendants into their clothing. Elara slipped scarves around their necks with a smile. They were obviously handmade. The twins beamed, offering their hugs and kisses to Ovion, Lysia and Elara. Elyimil waved them over next. She pulled a red powder from her pocket and started to dot the children's faces with it so that their markings reflected her own. "I give the blessings of the creators to you, may they protect you both". She pulled two boxes from her pocket. When opened, they had rings inside. Not the type for the fingers, but the type for the ears like she had. "Bring them to me when you awaken. I'll tell you about them" The twins nodded and gave her their hugs and kisses, quickly ushered to the next person, Kavasin. He placed a small dome in Erebus' hands and said nothing. The boy blinked, looking around the dome to figure out how it worked. Relf ran to turn the hall's lights off and when he did, the room lit up with butterflies. It was an Elven-made night light and the only one of its kind. Erebus began to tear up but Kavasin poked his forehead with a half smile. Erebus hugged the man, placing a kiss on his cheek. Relf flipped the lights back on and Kavasin placed a bow in Aradia's hands. It was made of Dwarven steel, moulded by a Dwarf but crafted by an Elf. Dia traced the bow's intricate carvings and then looked at Kavasin's rough hands. "Thank you, for handmaking our gifts. Your skill is unparalleled. I think...I've found my favourite item..." although the adults were confused, the kids clapped loudly with a smile. Dia kissed Kavasin's cheek and hugged him tightly. The man was overjoyed that the children liked his gift and even more so that Aradia had recognised he made them himself. His heart was swollen with joy and affection. But he wouldn't say it out loud.
Relf pulled a box from his jacket and handed it to the twins "I wasn't sure what everyone else had, but I knew they didn't have food, so I got you guys some Elven cake...Since it's your birthday and all..." The twins were practically drooling at the look alone. They kissed Relf on the cheek and hugged him tightly, Relf practically deflating as he slumped into his chair, his face on fire. People at the table snickered and tried to hold in their laughs while Quinn grumbled and Lily comforted him. Thelvara squealed a little and ushered them over "Come, come, come! Let me give you mine!" The twins bounced over happily and Thelvara placed a ring on the thumb of the twins. "This is a very special ring. It is imbued with quite a lot of power. Whenever you're in grave danger, this ring will protect your life. The only downside is, it's a 3-time use artifact. I have a matching one. Each time your ring is used, mine will crack until it shatters completely, and each time, your coordinates will be displayed on the ring for me to see. I'll always find you." Thelvara smiled with tears in her eyes, placing her forehead on the twin's forehead. "You promise you'll find us, right?" Erebus held out his pinky to her and Dia followed suit. The three looped their pinkies together and laughed "I will find you no matter what. Always remember that my life is yours, and I'll use it to protect both of you. Forever." Dia shook her head and placed her hand on Thelvara's cheek "We don't want that. We want you to live your life for you, and we want it to be the best life, filled with passion and joy. Don't throw it away for us". The tears that were brimming Thelvara's eyes now spilt onto her face while she paused. She quickly shook the tears away with a smile and nodded to the children before they were yoinked over to the High-Elf, Talane. She smooshed her cheeks against the twins, her dignity and elegance as the most powerful Elf in the room was slipping away swiftly. "GODDESS! I've been waiting to do this for MONTHS."
Again, the people gathered at the table were either trying to stifle their laughter or were already in hysterics while Lily and Quinn's jaws were on the floor. Diagda scratched the back of his head and looked at the two "Ah, yes...You wouldn't know, but Laney is a big kid at heart. She loves children, too. She's the type to roll in the mud with them". Would you be able to tell just by looking at her? Absolutely not. She always looked so refined, divine and graceful. Now she was perfectly relaxed with two children in her arms as if she had become a child herself. "Since I look so much like Dia, why don't you both call me big sis?" The twins nodded happily at her, having gained two big sisters in two days - Noros and now Talane. "Great! Big sister has these for you!" she placed a crown atop Dia's head, embedded with the finest azure gems. On top of Erebus' head sat a crown with the finest golden gems. There were audible gasps from around the room, Lily and Quinn were confused. Talane stood in front of the twins and kneeled, all Elves in the room following suit. Talane stood after a few seconds and bit into her finger, dragging it across Aradia's forehead first while muttering in Elvish. She did the same to Erebus afterwards and the twins were surrounded by a white glow. Now everyone in the room dipped their heads in respect to the twins. Lily stood up and looked around "W-What is going on?" Talane scratched her head awkwardly, mouthing 'sorry' to the concerned parents "I apologise for not clearing it with you in advance. But, I wished to return these crowns to their rightful owners and with it...Their titles." Quinn shot up and faltered in his steps a little "Wait! You don't mean..." Ovion nodded at him "Indeed. Their original titles were Royalty. Queen Aradia and King Erebus of the Elves.". The two parents slumped back in their seats. If their eyes could become dizzy spirals, they would be. Talane whispered to the twins "Your Majesties, you need to tell everyone to rise or they'll never come back up" Erebus giggled and the twins said 'rise' in a bubbly voice. When Dia tried to take the crown off, it wouldn't come off. She blinked at Talane, wondering if the crown was stuck. "Oh my, forgive this silly big sister. I forgot to tell you that these crowns are one with you now. All you need to do is think it away and it will vanish into your body. Cool right?" The twins nodded, doing as she instructed. The crowns vanished from atop their heads and they made a visible 'o' with their mouths in shock and awe. Talane moved to one side for a moment, bringing with her a golden chalice when she returned. "Now, our joint gift. We'll awaken your bloodline for you."
The twins were visibly nervous, Aradia gulping and Erebus twiddling his fingers. Talane slit her hand and dropped her blood into the chalice, going around to each Elven Lord to do the same. She kneeled before the twins, the chalice above her head as she yet again spoke in Elvish, blessing the blood inside as well as the children that were about to unlock their bloodline. When she stood, Erebus looked up at her with puppy eyes "What happens when we unlock our bloodline? Will it hurt?" Talane thought on it for a second "Truthfully, I'm not sure. We were all born Elves with full access to our abilities, so I couldn't tell you. Maybe you'll have pointy ears like me, maybe they'll be like Thelvara's or maybe you won't have pointed ears at all. It's a mystery until your sixteenth birthday." Dia nodded, hands out to receive the chalice. She took a big gulp, swallowing and passing it to her brother "It's okay, see?" Erebus nodded and followed Dia's example. Nothing happened to the children at all and nothing would happen...For another eight years.
Quill, the Fae King sighed as he motioned for the children to come closer "Now our gift is lacklustre in comparison. However, I noticed earlier that a few other Royals had something to say, like us. So before we give our gift, I'd like to speak privately with the adults. Is that okay, children?" Aradia and Erebus nodded in unison as they took their seats, the adults being escorted to a side room by Diagda. They all took a seat and Islara looked around the table with a serious face. "We all know it's impossible, don't we?" Everyone nodded in response while, for the 10,000th time today, Lily and Quinn looked confused.
