*Amelia's Pov*
"How could you be so rude to him , " Dr. Liam asked.
"He was an obnoxious prick and besides, it was a pleasure being rude to him.", I replied.
"It wasn't the best decision to have done that"
"why ?"
"he is the president of He enterprises "
"like I said, he could be the president of United f*****g States of America and I couldn't care less "
"what has he done to make you hate him so much" Liam asked not used to seeing me so fierce.
"let's not get into that", I said.
"I don't like that look on your face"
"what look?", I asked.
"the one that says, Oh I am about to drop a bomb shell with the information"
"oh no, I wouldn't do that"
"I don't trust you"
"I promise", I said holding my hand up.
" Do you remember the drug I was working on before I disappeared"?
" the one you said could change the medical world "
"that's the one"
"Yes, I remember, the drug that made the body immune to all infections and viruses"
"Yes, it's finally ready."
"Oh my god, are you sure"

"this is a big breakthrough Amelia, the number of lives that can be saved is enormous"
"yes, and now it's up to the board members to decide whether they will accept the drug or not.
"I'm sure they will, " Liam said.
"I wouldn't be so sure"
"Why not?, They have no reason to reject your drug. It can save the lives of millions and bring a lot of money to the company"
"That's where the problem lies"
"I don't understand"
"Liam, it's a huge deal. It's the kind of drug that can put them at the top and the biggest companies will not be happy with the competition. So I can bet my life that they will try to sabotage this project. That's why I wanted to discuss this with you "
"but you still haven't told me where you disappeared three years ago and then suddenly reappeared.
"that's not important now Liam"
"it is important to me. We thought you were dead. We searched for you and we couldn't find you. We were devastated"
"I am sorry, " I said.
"you better have a good explanation"
"I'm afraid it will not satisfy you"
"Try me"

"I don't believe you. "
"you have to, " I said.
"look, it doesn't matter where I was, what matters is where I am now and that is here. So you have to promise me that whatever happens, you will not interfere"
"What are you going to do ?", he asked and I didn't answer.
"You have to promise me, that you will not interfere "
"Promise me, " I said sternly
"Ok, I promise. But, just remember I'm here for you."
"Thank you"
Liam was not just the chief of surgery in Roswell hospital but also a very good friend, but now wasn't the time for him to find out my identity as Amelia Hou or the fact that I was married and gotten divorce with the president of He enterprises.
"that information would have to wait for another day" I told myself
"Can I go and see Mr. He now", I asked him.
"of course, he will be very happy to see you."
"Thank you"
", please don't get into trouble."
"Don't worry. I'm just going to see a patient."
I went up to the 10th floor and walked towards his room. His room was packed with nurses and doctors checking his vitals.
"Hello Dr. Eidin, what are you doing here" the nurse asked.
"I came to check on Mr. He"
"Oh, that's nice of you, I am sure he would be very happy to see you. "
I doubted if he would really be happy to see me, considering how the last time we met had gone.
"Hello Mr. He", I said as I entered the room my mask still covering my face.
"Who is it?", He asked.
"Mr. He, its Dr. Eidin" the nurse said.
"Eidin? The one who operated on me"
"Yes, Mr. He"
"Oh, come closer, so that I can see your face.
"Trust me you'd go right back into a coma if you did" I almost said out loud..
"I just came to check on you and see how you're doing", I said.
"Well, thank you very much, " he said.
I hummed in response and left knowing fully well that if I stayed another minute I'd probably send him back to the hell I had brought him out of but now wasn't the time for that.
"Enjoy your good days while they last" I said under my breath as I walked away.
I decided to head home as it was getting late.
I called Walter to let him know I was going to the base.
"Where have you been" he asked.
"You said you were coming and then you didn't. I thought something happened"
"What do you think could possibly happen to me? I asked him
"You are my bodyguard stop acting like you're my husband" the words escaped my mouth before I could stop myself
"I was just worried" he said in a small voice...
I didn't want Walter to worry too much so I told him I'd meet him at the base. Something that he was visibly excited about.
I dropped the call and called Edward instructing him to take me to the base.
Three years had passed since I stepped foot there. This was my lair, my heaven , the one place that connected me to my father and the things he taught me.Against my mom's bickering my father had made sure to teach every life saving skill and all possible forms of martial arts so I was able to protect myself if situation arose but Little did he know his baby girl would go on to become the leader of a secret organisation..
I heaved a sigh as the car pulled up and put up my mask because no-one knew my real identity besides Walter and Edward and I wanted to keep it like that for as long as possible.
"I will wait here for ,you miss Eidin" Edward said.
"Thank you Ed but you can go back .Walter is here he'll take me back"
"Of course, Miss"
He got out of the car and opened the door for me.
I saw Walter standing a few feet away and waved to him .
He came closer and stood at a perfect distance from me and bowed "Miss Hou" he greeted.
I smiled in response and told him to see me in my office. Walter was surprised I had chosen this place to talk to him but remained silent.
He followed me to my room and respectfully stood there.
"Walt, you can relax it's just the two of us here", I said seeing him so stiff
"Miss Hou, I'm currently on duty" he said with a straight face.
Walter was just too difficult to understand. Somedays he was like a golden retriever puppy and somedays he looked like he could kill people with his bare hands.
"Fine" I said "Take a seat."
I took off my mask because I didn't have to hide from him.
"Miss, please keep your mask on in case someone comes" he said
I hated the way he sounded so formal but I had no idea what pissed him off
"Walter, is something bothering you" I said unable to take it anymore. He was my only friend and his formality was making me feel super awkward.
"No Miss Hou" he answered.
I could see he was upset but decided to drop the topic.
"What's the report on He enterprises?" I asked ,changing the topic..
*Walter's pov*
I wasn't mad that she said I should stop acting like her husband I was made over the fact that she thought I wasn't worthy of worrying about her.
"Walt, are you sure there's nothing wrong?" She asked
"Yes, Miss" I answered.
"Okay then, can you go and bring the reports?"
"Of course, miss"
I had to keep a straight face when all I wanted was to hold her, to love her and cherish her.
I looked at the girl in front of me. Barely, 27 yrs old, she looked like she was carrying the wait of the world and took every ounce of self control in me to not take her away and hide her so nothing or no-one could ever hurt her again.
"Miss, here are the reports"
"Thanks, Walt"
I watched her flip through the pages and then a frown appeared on her beautiful face.
"Why do I have the feeling this is not good" she mumbled.
"How did the attack on the company stop without my permission " she said furious
"They most likely solved the problem on their own" I said
She looked at me like I had cracked a joke
"So you're telling me someone actually cracked Spark's choice" she said almost mocking me..
And then probably thinking about something exclaimed, "s**t now I know"
I looked at her waiting for her to continue but nothing happened.
