-Raya- The first thing I noticed when I stepped onto campus was the color. Banners. Posters. Booths. Bright splashes of red, blue, green, and gold lining the walkways. Balloons tied to poles. Arrows pointing in every direction. A stand with glossy flyers was already surrounded by students in varying degrees of confusion and excitement. I blinked a few times, slowly pulling out one of my earbuds. “So… this is what they’ve been up to last night,” I mumbled under my breath. It made sense now—the murmurs I heard as I jogged around the track, the distant movement near the gym, those shadows I’d noticed darting behind tents while I was too focused on drills to care. I’d thought it was just the maintenance staff fixing up something. Maybe a school fair. Maybe prep for next week’s events. No
