-Raya- The engine purred softly beneath us as Alec pulled out of the lot, the orange glow of the streetlights sliding across the windshield like slow-moving shadows. Neither of us spoke. The car was filled only with the low hum of the radio, turned down so low it was more of a texture than a sound.
