• Far away from the grand hall, a strange dark light journeyed through an underground tunnel under the city’s cemetery that led to the frozen kingdom of the vampires called the shadows realms. No human knew about the existence of this realm or no one believed in its existence anymore. The shadows was a vast plain covered by thick darkness that cover one’s face like a veil. That night, at the Halloween party, the students, unaware of what they have done, had celebrated the rituals of the vampires’ renewal through the mass burning of candles on a full moon Halloween night.
Then, the unfortunate happened, Sofia’s blood mixed up with a burning candle, sending a sign into the sky. By this sign, a new order was ushered , a new era the world fought against ten thousand years and now, the humans have brought great evil uponn their land with their own hands. Waves of lightning bolt brighten up the dark sky of the temple, revealing the dark castle floating on a large bat In the air and an invisible Temple and the shadows trembled violently.
The Ice that once encased the vampires, both great and small began to melt away and soon, the shadows was filled with a legion of vampires crying for blood and revenge and painfully the weak human race did not know what was in for them, their voices were like the rumbling of thunder. The strange light turned and wound upwards into the floating loyal castle of the vampires. It suddenly stopped at the throne room revealing the two dark vampire princes sitting on a dark diamond throne. As soon as the light came, it vanished and the ice around the princes began to melt away like ice exposed to the heat of the sun.
Finally, every inch of the ice melted off their skin, and they blinked their eye for the first time in ten thousand years. Together, they rose up from their throne and fire shot out of their dark eyes. Their wings began to spread open as legion of bat flew noisily into the hall and dark lightning bolt announced their freedom. We are back, they said and thunder rumbled
AT THE PARTY
The earth shook violently as though it was going to split into two halves. The crowd in the hall was thrown into great confusion and Elsa struggled to keep her balance while she held Sofia closely in her arms and weeping at the same time. Sofia was dying and there was nothing she could do about it. Richard came running to her and Elsa looked straight into his eyes, she felt guilty, but she could not accept anybody because of their wealth, that would be selfish.
“Are your okay my Elsa.’
“I am,” Elsa replied
“What happened to her,” Richard inquired, looking down at Sofia.
“She got a cut and fainted few minutes ago, we need to see a doctor,” Clinton interrupted.
“I’ve to lead this people to safety and see that nobody gets hurt,” he said placing his right hands on Elsa’s shoulders, and she responded with a nod Richard reached into his pocket and brought out his car key. “Here is my car key,” he said turning over to Clinton. “Get the girl to a hospital and take Elsa home.”
Clinton took Sofia from me and carried her in his hands while I led the way trying to clear out the crowd that stood before us buy my efforts were futile. The crowd in the hall were struggling to leave and Sofia laid in Clinton hands dying. Elsa couldn’t see her friend in such a state, and she wept. “God, please send me an angle,” Elsa prayed.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” Elsa heard someone saying through the microphone. At the word, everyone one the hall stood still as though hymatized by some strange force. Elsa turned around to the direction of the sound and discovered it was Richard. “Please guys we have a dying girl in our midst and I plead that you allow them room to leave the hall, so they can get a doctor.” At his word the crowd pulled apart into two separate rolls on the left and the other on the right and Elsa walked grandly through the path created, closely followed by Clinton.
They got to the car park and Clinton identified Richard’s car almost immediately, it was an army colored limousine. Quickly, Clinton opened the back door and laid Sofia on it while I sat beside him in the front. The drive to the hospital was quite, Elsa peered her head through the window and noticed the great harm the raging storm was cursing as lightning flashed at regular intervals. It’s certainly going to rain today, she whispered. “A dark rain,” she heard a voice saying. It was the same voice she heard in the hall before Sofia’s fainting incident and whosoever so it, she was tired of its negative predictions.
Clinton drew a stop when they got to a nearby hospital, painted dark green. Wait here, “I will be back in a minute.” Elsa watched him as he came out of the car and shut the door behind him. Few minutes later, he returned to Elsa looking confused. What is the problem, Elsa inquired.
“I could not get the doctor, the door and window are shut.”
“I think it because of the storm.”
“My thoughts exactly. But what do we do now, she is dying.”
“Her dad,” Elsa exclaimed, she remembered Sofia talking about her father being a retired doctor. Her dad is a retired doctor.
“Then what are I still doing here, let’s get going,” he said, and he got into the car.
“Do you know her place.”
“Yes,” he replied and Elsa was stunned.
“How long have you guys been talking.
About a month now.”
“And she never told me, when she wakes up, I will definitely send her back to where ever she is coming from,” Elsa thought. Clinton pulled the car into the road, now deserted due to the storm and drove the car at an alarming speed that almost made Elsa’s heart sank. Within few minutes, they arrived at Number 34, Bendel street. From the window of the car, Elsa noticed that Mr. Duke was outside, Something was wrong with his car and he was struggling with the storm to get it fixed. Quickly, Elsa jumped down from the car and ran to Mr. Duke. Hi Mr Duke, she greeted.
“Hi Elsa,” how are you doing? He returned.
“Fine sir,” Elsa spat out hastily.
“You don’t look too good,” Mr. Duke noticed. “What about your friend Sofia, I was just coming to get her, but there is something wrong with this old man,” He said with a smile.
“Well…. Mr. Duke,” Elsa stammered.
“Is anything wrong,” he replied, his face flushed with fear. Where is my daughter.
“She is…., she is,” Elsa stammered again.
“What happened to her,” Mr. Duke questioned frightened.
“She fainted at the party,” Elsa sobbed.
“I knew something was wrong,” Mr Duke muttered. “Where is she now he said.”
“She is over there,” Elsa answered, pointing at the car. We tried to take her to the hospital, but the door was shut due to the storm. Together, Mr. Duke journeyed to the car. Wordlessly, Clinton came down from the car and assisted Mr. Duke get Sofia from the car, she had lost a reasonable about of weight during the few periods she was unconscious. They gained entrance into the room and Mr. Duke gestured Clinton to lay Sofia on the Sofa. Mr. Duke sat close to his daughter and felt her pulse. She will be fine, he announced to Elsa’s relieve, but there was uncertainty in his eyes. “Elsa you need to get going now,” Mr. Duke said to Elsa. “I’m pretty sure your mum will be very worried about your absence, thanks for everything. What is your name young man, “he said turning to Clinton.
“Clinton sir,” Clinton replied.
“I remember Sofia mentioning that name, but I can’t really remember when and where. Thanks anyway and please, see that Sofia gets home safely okay?”
“Okay sir,” Clinton replied.
Elsa turned to leave, but she heard someone calling her name, it was the strange voice again, and she stopped on her track. What do you want from me, she screamed in her head. “I don’t want anything from you Elsa,” the still voice answered her thoughts. “I’m here to inform you that there is trouble, a trouble your race may not be able to come out of.”
“Trouble?” Elsa whispered aloud.
