Chapter 5 Thursday, April 19, 2007 “Please don’t be late,” I said to Shoroq. “I promised Mr. Khalifa we would be there by eleven. I want to be sure we arrive on time.” I knew Shoroq would only get anxious if I hung around watching her while she dressed and put on her makeup, so I left. “I’ll wait for you down in my office.” I went downstairs and through the hall to my office.
