“I think this is it,” Bihlke said when we reached the tree line, where it was the end of the pathway of the map on my chest. She turned to look at me. “It’s so dark in there in the forest,” she observed. I took a deep breath, sniffing the bitter and sweet smell in the air coming from the forest.
