"Alex, is he conscious now?" I asked anxiously.
"Yes, but..." Alex sighed, fear evident in his eyes, "I don't think the Alpha will be happy about you going there."
He was right. I knew Dennis wouldn't approve, but I had to go in. "Please, just let me in," I pleaded, wringing my hands nervously. "Tell him I forced you or something."
"Alright. But be quick before he returns," Alex agreed reluctantly.
I nodded, determined to make the most of the opportunity. "I'll be quick."
He opened the door and gestured for me to enter. As I stepped inside, the overwhelming stench of burnt flesh and blood assaulted my nose, making my stomach churn with nausea.
