Bianca   “No.”   Isaac’s immediate refusal took me by complete surprise. What did he think I was—a petulant child who had to get her parent’s permission for ice cream? “What do you mean, ‘no’?”   “I mean no, Bianca. You shouldn’t be eating ice cream.” He kept his eyes on the road and didn’t stop as the shop whizzed by.   “Why not?” I asked, completely baffled. It was just ice cream, for God and Goddess’ sake, not hard drugs.   Isaac sighed as if I were being difficult. “Remember what Dr. Alfred said? You need to be eating healthy for the baby. Ice cream isn’t healthy.”   I stared at him for a moment with my mouth slightly open. Was he actually refusing to let me have a single scoop of ice cream? After weeks of eating nothing but vegetables and lean proteins and whole grains?
