Together, we navigated through the palace corridors toward the chapel, servants and staff scattering out of our way, expressions of relief and excitement on their faces. Word of Isaac’s drunken escapades with Ella had clearly spread, and everyone had likely been expecting the wedding to be called off.   As we approached the grand doors of the chapel, I could hear the murmur of hundreds of voices inside. My heart thudded against my ribs.
