Greyson

These guys were going to ruin everything i'm sitting across from the most beautiful woman I've ever met and they just have to mention steph I know I know I sound like total scum but steph and I have an expiration date.

"So you have a girlfriend?" The pretty little red head said looking up at me through thick lashes

"Yea.. I guess... sorta...it's complicated"

"Didn't sound too complicated to me this morning" matt rebuttaled

Glaring at him I turned my attention back to the girls

"so um we're having a party tomorrow night would you two like to come?"

Leighton looked to jess panicked like she wanted an excuse to say no.

"Greyson we'd love to." Jess said smiling at Leighton who just stared at her blankly.

"Great lei..." I started

"There you are" a woman with similar red hair cut in she was older but she didn't look too much older they could almost be sisters.

"Oh uh hey mom I was just about to text you"

"Well it looks like you're busy here we were getting ready to leave but maybe one of your friends will take you home Rick wanted to take me to a park he won't stop talking about"

"I dont think.." she started

"Actually ma'am I'd be happy to drive her home, my name is greyson" I said

Sranding placing my hand out to shake her moms

"Well greyson that's very kind of you thank you" she answered returning my shake

"No mom" Leighton said but her mom wasn't listening

"OK sweetie well we'll see you later don't wait up and go ahead and order a pizza maybe jess can come over" she said as if she didn't even see Jessica sitting there.

As her mom and Rick walked away Leighton just sat there dumbfounded.

"G can I talk to you a sec" Jeremy said

He walked me away from the table with his hand on my shoulder.

"What are you doing?" He asked

"I'm just offering a girl a ride home is all"

"Oh come on like I didn't notice what you did back there, who is this girl?"

"I...I don't know but there's something about her I have this feeling....listen I dont know but I want to find out"

"Alright well I'll work a little magic with Jessica and see if she'll take us home" he said wiggling his fingers

Once we were in the truck Leighton sat quietly with her hands folded in her lap being this close to her I could smell her perfume vanilla with a hint of coconut she smelt amazing. I couldn't think straight and even worse I couldn't tell what she was thinking most people I could read their minds like it was nothing but she's different.

"Are you going to start the car?" She said almost whispering

"Ha oh yea I'm sorry I was just going to ask where you live"

"380 mulberry"

"Mulberry huh? Fancy neighborhood"

"Yea I guess I've never given it much thought it's where I grew up, I moved out for a few years but my mom was lonely so I moved back"

"She didn't seem too lonely she had that rod guy"

She giggled "its Rick but yea some sort of cosmic joke on me six months after I moved back she met the wonderful man you met today"

"So can I ask why don't you like him?"

"I don't know a lot of things really. Little things that add up you know. Plus when I first met him I just got this gut feeling I didn't like him and those are never wrong"

"So did you get that feeling about me?" I asked her

"Hmmm" she said rubbing her chin she gave me a sly smile that made my hear flutter

"Its that bad huh?" I asked

"No no not at all I got a different feeling about you all together" my stomach was doing somersaults

"Care to explain?"

"Nope heres my house thanks for the ride!" She said chipperly ask she jumped out of my truck and ran to her house.
