Everyone voiced agreement, then began moving in the direction of the cliffs. Their route was easy enough to remember, so Chastain didn’t need to bother with the GPS unit. They traipsed back along the valley in silence, all spread out and gazing around them as if they were on a perfectly ordinary, pleasant walk in the countryside. But then, there was no reason to behave any other way, was there? When he and the other men had arrived on the island, they had no idea what they’d find. Now, though, the situation was much clearer and they weren’t expecting trouble—at least not of the human kind. Unfortunately, a battle with Mother Nature was always a possibility.
