POV: Amber
I was trying to pay attention to the conversation Maddison was having with Kane, but I couldn’t focus. Since we walked in the door right before ten, I’ve been watching the door. I was nervous as hell for Damion to walk in.
My heart was beating out of control at the thought of seeing him again. The girls made me promise to have fun and not pay attention to him if he showed up.
I looked back at Kane’s brother; I’ve always thought that Kane was fine. But Maddison called dups on him, and I was with Damion at the time. So, it didn’t matter anyways.
But his brother on the other hand, looked ten times better to me. Yeah, they had the same face and warrior-built body. Zane had waves instead of long hair like his brother, a trimmed goatee, and tattoos all over his body. I could see the tattoos on his chest because his button up was undone. His jeans hung low on his hips and the way he held himself was so sexy to me. It was easy to see that he was the bad boy out of the two. I was trying my best not to stare at him.
His friend Blackjack was dark as night, with a white ass smile and purple lips. He was about the same height as the twins and also had waves. The white boy, Bobby, looked like growing up his idol was Paul Wall . This man had a taper fade with shiny black curls and a lined-up beard. To top it off he had a grill, but I won’t lie he was the sexiest white boy I’ve ever seen. He was built with tattoos all over his arms and a couple on his neck, he had baby blue eyes. Deno had mahogany skin, he had dreads that were in two strand twists. He had a baby face, but he looked like he was up to something with his tight eyes. He also had the least tattoos, he was chunky, but you could tell it was all muscle.
Maddison and Kane were talking about our study session tomorrow. We had just agreed, I would sleep over at Maddison’s so we could still meet at ten when Damion walked in.
“f**k! I knew he was going to come!” I yelled, before leaving the group.
Damion had come with two of his brother’s from his fraternity. It was hard to look at his sexy ass and not run over to him. He was around six foot two and built like a Greek God. He had a low fade, with barely any facial hair and luscious lips. Unlike Zane, he had no tattoos and barely a trace of a bad boy in him. He was double majoring in music and psychology at UNLV.
Camilla was the only one who followed me into the bathroom.
“Girl, what is you doing?” She asked from outside of the bathroom stall. “I was tryna get with that fine ass white boy they had with them!”
“I know you seen him walk in.” I responded, “f**k, my stomach hurt.”
“Okay, you need to stop.” She giggled. “Do you want to drink some more? For the nerves?”
“Yes, can you bring me an adios?”
“Oh, you tryna get f****d up? Okay, I’ll be right back.”
I listened to the door shut and tilted my head back.
How the f**k am I supposed to act if he comes by me?
“Are you okay?” Maddison asked as she walked in. “I guess you seen Damion.”
I got up and opened the door, “Girl, yes!”
She shook her head, “Come back out, don’t let him ruin our fun. I seen Kane’s brother checking you out.”
I rolled my eyes, “He is fine, but how am I supposed to act if Damion comes by me?”
“Unbothered! ‘Cause you are! So, act like it!”
Camilla and Zoey opened the door again.
“Come out here,” Zoey called, “We’re not bringing drinks in a nasty ass bathroom.”
Maddy and I laughed before stepping out. They had brought another round for all of us. It looked like Kane and his people had walked off somewhere so we made our way to a clear area. The DJ started playing more dance songs, so we drank and started dancing together. Some of Maddy’s sorority sisters came over and brought us more drinks. Soon we were a big group of girls singing and dancing on each other.
I looked up and I caught eyes with Zane again. I thought he grinned at me, but I couldn’t be sure. I did notice he was talking to some girl. I knew for a fact that Kane was single, but for all I knew Zane could have somebody.
The music changed and the Greek life people started yelling out their calls and stuff. So, it was clear that it was time for the main event.
We all watched as one of the Divine Nine’s new line did their probate. I was so drunk; I could barely keep up as they went through their history and stuff. When they got to strolling everyone eventually joined in. I never understood the hype of actually joining a sorority or anything, but it did look fun. I called it a day just being cool with all the different people.
It was when Damion was strolling with his brothers, that we caught eyes. He smiled and I managed to mug and flip him off as he went by.
“I’m going to step outside.” I whispered in Camilla’s ear.
“You want company?”
I shook my head and walked off; I needed some fresh air. I walked to little distance outside and leaned my back against the wall. I took a deep breath as I closed my eyes. The little smile Damion gave me shook me to my core. How the f**k could he smile at me, hours after leaving me?
“You good?” A deep voice asked me.
My eyes popped opened, and I realized that Zane was standing in front of me.
“I’m trying to be.” I responded with a smile.
He gave one back, he had some a pretty smile.
“I saw you storm out here alone. We ain’t on the right side of town for all of that, Love.”
“I know,” I sighed, “I just needed some air. Your girl okay with you out here with some random female, calling her Love and s**t?”
He chuckled, “I don’t have a girl, what about yo man? I assume he’s one of those stepping niggas in there.”
“He was, he broke up with me tonight.”
“Mhm, what would make his dumb ass do something like that? Are you crazy or something?”
I laughed, “No!”
“You was whooping his ass or something.”
“No!”
“s*x maniac and he couldn’t keep up?” Zane asked, licking his lips, and stepping closer.
“Wouldn’t you like to know?”
“Mhm, I like you, Love.” He caressed the side of my face.
Before I could respond, Damion walked outside and called my name.
