Unknown's POV:
I had underestimated the fairy, and now I was uncloaked... exposed... Seeing me the fairy let out a shriek, and the dragon transformed himself, roaring, as he took a protective stance around the fairy. A magnificent beast, a deep red body which almost looked black and blood-red eyes.
The fairy quickly recovered from the shock and stood her ground casting a binding spell. She knew how to use her magical abilities even at such a tender age, no wonder she was physically weaker than the others. She must have been focusing only on building her magic and stamina. What a mistake.
I blocked her spell and cast a transformation neutralisation spell on the dragon, but she had already anticipated this and put a strong protection barrier around them.
She had not realised who or what I was, so I stepped forward. Though my spells would not penetrate the barrier from the outside, was it strong enough to block me from entering?
"You are a quick, smart and strong fairy, even though you are young. I will give you that. But let's see what happens next. We all know revenge is a dish best served cold."
I stepped closer to the barrier and felt her magic. To my astonishment, the barrier was strong enough that even I could not pass through it, without taking a considerable amount of time trying to break through it.
She went on reinforcing the barrier, which meant it would take even longer; so I started to analyse the barrier for weaknesses.
Odette's POV:
The uncloaked being looked extremely grotesque and though he blocked my spell, he was no fairy. "What are you?" I thought to myself.
Once I set up the barrier I kept reinforcing it, to ensure that it would take more effort and strength to break it. I remembered Jack's lessons on how if the spell caster's magical abilities were weaker than the opponent's, then barrier penetration was possible.
Seeing that he could not enter made me feel a tad bit relieved, but next, he would try to find weaknesses. I was right, and so when he was analysing the barrier I cast a few more spells.
The only way my barrier would break was if Drake, Aidan's dragon tried to move out of it. So firstly, I cast individual protection spells on each of us as well as Natalie and Daniel, since I was sure they must have heard the roar and would be heading our way. So I linked Natalie, "Nat, there is a creature who was following Aidan and myself. I have cast a reinforced protective barrier around us and put individual protection spells on all of us, which I am sure you and Daniel must have felt. Don't come our way, contact the Princess, tell her that there is a disfigured being here and he is out for revenge. Love you."
I could tell from Drake's behaviour, that Aidan had not given him total control. So I tried using magic to send link with them. "Aidan, Drake... I know you'll want to protect me, but I can handle it. Aidan, in your dragon form you have to give complete control to Drake. I know he too will ensure no harm comes to me. I have already linked Nat and informed her about the situation; she will be contacting the Princess. Also, I have put protection spells on all four of us, so if he manages to break through my barrier, we will still have defences up and be in the best possible position to strike back. The moment you have him distracted, I will cast a binding-freezing spell and then keep reinforcing it to ensure that he does not manage to escape."
I was not sure if I had succeeded in establishing the link, but then they shifted their stance, ready to make their move, while still keeping me protected. I tried using the same method to link the Princess, to no avail.
Putting the protection spells and linking Natalie, as well as Aidan and Drake, had taken no longer than what I had expected, and so I refocused on the creature surveying, "He is disfigured, and though he blocked my spell, he is no fairy. So what is he? He had concealed himself but was visible as a shadow. So it was not a cloaking spell. And he even tried putting the transformation neutralisation spell on Aidan+Drake. He is not a dragon or a werewolf either, but it is difficult to be sure because of his mangled featured." I began contemplating on whether I should directly ask him, but Drake decided to go in for the attack.
Aidan's POV:
"I should have noticed someone tailing us. How did I miss it?" I kept questioning myself. After shifting I was fighting Drake for control, to ensure Odette was protected. But on receiving the link from her, I gave Drake total control and he went in for the attack.
Natalie's POV:
"Holy Fairies! Daniel, we have to contact the Princess right away. There is a crazed creature who is trying to seek revenge. We need to get her here right away." I gushed to Daniel on receiving Odette's link.
Daniel using his werewolf pack link informed his father of the situation and asked him to contact the queen.
Odette had told us not to come their way for our protection, and soon help would come, and even though I told Daniel this neither of us stopped. We continued to move in the direction towards the roar, and I began to feel Odette's magic. We were close, just a few more feet and we would be able to help them. Please be okay...f
