The Fallen's POV:
There she was, my beauty!
Time had not changed her, and neither had that mortal managed to tame her. She radiated authority. She was just the same.
I did not interrupt her when she went to check on the fairy and then on her son and the other two young ones. I gave her time now because I knew that in a few moments I would have her undivided attention.
I waited as the warrior squad surrounded me, till she turned my way, and finally once the children were gone.
Now I had her!
"What are you doing here? You were banished and told never to return. Did you forget the punishment you received? Is your face not enough a reminder for you? Do not make me finish what my father started." She did not let any emotion show on her face or in her eyes. One thing that had changed about her. When I knew her, she had been an open book, her eyes unable to hide any secret or any feeling.
"How have you been my love? You have barely changed, except that I remember you could never conceal your emotions. The mortal taught you to hide your disappointment in him?" She did not react to my statements and questions, only motioned for the warrior squad to move forward.
"Oh my love, you know there is no need for that. You only need to tell me where you want me, where you need me; and I will ensure to fulfil all your desires..." She still did not react, and the warrior squad proceeded to restrain me. Once they restrained me they stepped back. I looked at the restraint and then at her, "My love, have you forgotten what I am?" I asked easily breaking through the restraints. She looked annoyed at this, and instructed the warrior squad "Use the iron restrains with the unicorn hair core."
"Oh my love, so I never left your mind... Are you ready to leave that mortal now? You can bring your child along, though he might feel insecure after he has brothers and sisters who are more powerful than him... Or you can leave them both. You know I am all you need."
"Everyone, get into formation we will be escorting the prisoner back to the castle dungeons. And would someone gag him." I was gagged before I could say anything further. No worries though, we would have all the time to talk while we were in the castle, and that insufferable mortal or his half-blood son would not be in any position to do anything about it.
Aidan's POV:
None of us spoke on the ride back home, we were all only focused on Odette. She had not shown any signs of consciousness. The only consolation was that her vitals were still stable.
It took what felt like a very long time before we were back at the castle gates and heading towards the medical bay. Dad met us as we were entering and gestured for me to lay Odette down on the nearest bed, as he was calling on the clan doctor.
Dr. Linda reached us by the time I had gently placed Odette on the bed. She requested us to step outside as she immediately checked Odette's stats and hooked her up to different instruments. After a few minutes she returned, and seeing all our worried expressions she smiled, "There are no serious injuries and she is not in any danger. She is currently in this state because her magic reserves were almost completely depleted, it seems by the end she was using her life force while casting her spells. I have given her a sedative to maintain her sleep state and have hooked her to an IV, which will help her recuperate and regain her magical strength. Once she is in better shape, I would like to keep her here for a few more days under observation."
Though she would be in a sleep state and then under observation, she was going to be okay. "Can we see her?" I asked. I knew that I was not the only one who was worried about Odette.
We got a positive response but were instructed to maintain silence.
Natalie went first, followed by Daniel, dad and finally me. I pulled a chair close to her bedside and sat. Only a few moments later, I saw mama through the door talking to dad.
Since Odette had arrived and begun her training here, I had seen her build her magical abilities. Our training was very extensive, but never before had I seen her magic deplete.
I needed to talk to mama about the being we encountered and what had happened to Odette. I needed answers.
