King Devlin's POV:
I could not stay put after hearing the details from Athena, and so I decided to do the only thing that would put my mind at ease, visit my daughter. I spoke to Athena before I left, and she too agreed, but only requested me to not act rashly. I did not teleport, as I would need all the time to think and calm my nerves before speaking to my precious Nuri. So I had my car pick me, and shared the hotel details.
The moment I reached the hotel, I moved to find my daughter's room and knocked on the door. There was no response, so I knocked a second time and then a third, to finally have my precious peek out from behind the door. Her expression on realising it was me was to astonishment, and her jaw hung open in surprise.
I smiled "Oh my dear, so this is where you have been hiding."
Hearing my voice brought her out of the shock, as she rushed forward and straight into my open arms, tears rolling down her beautiful face. I whispered pacifying words as I directed her back into the room.
I would put an end to the ones responsible to bring my daughter to tears, and I knew exactly who they were. I had already worked on multiple plans to confront the King of the Phoenix clan and his heir, as well as come up with ideas of how to deal with the mortal if he caused my daughter any more pain. But first I would pay attention to my daughter.
Between her sobs, she whispered telling me how glad she was that I had come. I too was glad. Being with her calmed me. We sat on a sofa near the fireplace and held each other.
What had the Sun God and Moon Goddess pinned for my precious daughter? Why did she have to go through such pain?
Princess Nuri's POV:
I continued to cry while I held my father, seeing him had made all walls I had built through the day, come crumbling down.
I cried... Cried for being fooled and taken advantage of, cried for being tricked, and cried because there was almost no chance of my mate to come to accept me and what I was.
My father did not let go of me and kept whispering words of courage to give me strength.
After what seemed like a long time, I finally felt a bit of relief and looked up to my father, "Thank you for coming daddy."
"You know you never have to thank me, my dear," he said gently wiping the tears off my face.
"I just cannot believe Roark would do something like that. Why would he do something like that?" Fresh tears began to form and glisten in my eyes.
"He pretended to be your mate... And hurt you to this extent... Don't shed a tear for such a person."
What?!? Something sounded oddly familiar about what my father had just said "What did you say, daddy? Did you say that he pretended to be my mate, hurt me to such an extent and not to cry over such a person..?"
My father gave me a reassuring nod. But where had I heard this before? I could not remember.
"Daddy, will you help me. I know exactly what I want to do..." But before I could complete what I was going to say there was a knock on the door.
I looked at my father quizzically, was my mother also coming? But he seemed as confused as me.
I started to get up, but my father was quicker and as he approached the door he gestured for me to sit down again.
He opened the door slightly "Can I help you?" and that is when the most intoxicating smell hit me again.
Adam's POV:
"Hello sir, I am looking for Nuri. I need to talk to her."
"She is not taking any visitors at the moment, and by the way young man, have you seen the time."
"Sir, please let me speak with her."
I tried to reason with the strapping man in front of me, but he would not budge until I heard the most pleasant voice ever approaching and my eyes tried to find the source.
"Daddy, who is it?" She peeked from behind the man standing in front of me, "Adam..."
She said my name with such love and yet such sadness, but who was she calling daddy? I looked towards the man and the way his demeanour changed on hearing Nuri's voice, I realised he was her father.
This man is my mate's father.
I bowed down showing him my respect and then stood straight extending my hand forward, "It is nice to meet you, sir!"
