Chapter 31: TOMORROW

Adam's POV:

I couldn't be happier, Nuri's father had accepted me as his daughter's mate and had permitted me to date her.

We had left to gather from Nuri's room and in the elevator on the way down he looked at me, "I know this must be all new to you, but my daughter is very young and very precious to me. So keep yourself contained. And don't do anything that I will need to make you regret." "Of course sir." There was no further discussion.

We stepped out of the hotel and I said goodnight excusing myself.

I needed to sort out my work for tomorrow to be able to help Nuri with the shifting. Thankfully there were no meetings set for tomorrow but I still had some work to sort out. So while in the car on the way back home, I called my assistant and discussed the details which he would resolve, and would update me once completed.

On reaching home I freshened up and lay on the bed, but could not keep the thoughts of Nuri out of my head. 

Tomorrow is going to be interesting...

King Devlin's POV:

After leaving the hotel and Adam's farewell, I got to the car and headed back home. And as expected Athena was waiting for me.

The moment she saw me, she waited for me to shut the door to our chambers and went into a full-blown question session, "Could you not link me to tell me what is happening? I was worried sick here. How is my baby doing? Did you meet the mortal? What was his reaction? How is Nuri dealing with the situation?"

"My queen you need to breathe.... calm breaths please...." I approached her and hugged her, tracing circles on her back to calm her. "I know you... and so I know you would want to hear this information first-hand, and not over a mind-link."

"Oh Devlin, how is she doing?"

"She was doing much better when I left, in comparison to when I first saw her." I went on to tell Athena everything that had happened and also about how I had arranged for a house for Nuri before I could leave from the castle, and had signed the paperwork before I could go to see her. "The house is in her name and it is on the outskirts of the city but not too far away. I also told her that we would be coming to check in on her often. I also gave Adam a stern warning. I like him, and I am sure you will love him as I told you he asked permission to date Nuri."

"I am sure Nuri must have been extremely embarrassed. But that is very mature of him, even if things are different according to our ways. We will have to accommodate his ideology also form now on."

"That is true my dear. But for now, we better get some sleep. I will be going to shift Nuri into the house tomorrow, and you were right she does not want anyone to know her whereabouts just yet, she wants to plan something, especially for Roark and King Fin."

"That's my girl. I wish I could come tomorrow as well. But I will hold down the fort and ensure things go about smoothly. But she better come up with a plan tomorrow. You know how shrewd King Fin is, I expect him to figure something is off, and we need to be prepared before that." 

"Yes dear, you head to bed, I will clean up and join you."

After a shower, when I went to bed, my queen was already fast asleep, I lay down pulled her close and fell asleep shortly after, thinking tomorrow is going to be interesting...
