Aidan's POV:
As time passed, Odette, Natalie, and Daniel became my friends, to my parent's utmost pleasure.
On the day of joining, Daniel and I were assigned as sparring partners, whereas Odette and Natalie were paired with the twins Chumana and Anguis, respectively. After Jack saw that Daniel was handling himself well during the sparring session and even managing to hold his defence while delivering a few blows and receiving blows in return, it was decided that we would partner for all our other training sessions as well.
Daniel as my partner was an interesting challenge. Never had I ever met someone who had tried to throw a single blow at me and succeeded, let alone a couple and succeed. This made me want to grow in strength and abilities even more.
After Daniel and I went through a few more days of training as partners, I came to realize that even he felt the same and had the same aspirations as me. We clicked exceptionally well and bonded as brothers would.
To my surprise, Daniel was already friends with Odette and Natalie. Daniel had been training in Acacia (Odette and Natalie's home) with them before the three could join us in the territory of the Draconis dragon clan.
Few weeks into training and we four were spending more time together, even outside of training. I learned more about them.
Daniel Maximoff, son of Alpha Blaze and Luna Diana of the Blue Moon pack. Training to be the pack's next Alpha and a potential representative of all the wolf packs, an honour currently given to his father.
Odette and Natalie Fae, daughters of Orm and Nina, advisors to the king and queen of the earth fairy kingdom Acacia. Both were wanting to follow in their parent's wings. Natalie was the younger of the two, but you could always find her ready to throw a punch or roundabout kick at anyone who stepped out of line even for a bit; Odette was the calmer one, always ready with solutions. But both are extremely bright.
Some time passed and my eleventh birthday was in two days when Daniel announced "Are you ready for an adventure?" without waiting for us to respond he continued, "For Aidan's birthday, the four of us will be going trekking up the High Forest Mountain, and I have already taken permission from your parent's (he said pointing towards me) and Jack." Seeing our stunned expressions on hearing Daniel had taken permission, he went on to say "We all know that the Mystic species are extremely strong, even the young ones. Also, since High Forest Mountain is part of the dragon clan's territory we will not be in any danger. So no need to worry. And anyway, I will be there to protect you'll if any dangerous situation arises." The final comment resulted in Daniel getting a punch from Natalie, which made me snicker. "Chill Nat. But don't tell me later that I did not offer" he said smirking.
"Mama agreed?" I questioned out loud, and Daniel told us how my mother immediately said no at first, but then my father had stepped in and convinced her. How dad managed to do that was beyond me, I would have to get the details from him later.
I looked towards Odette and saw her chatting excitedly with Natalie, and couldn't help but look at her some more, the kind, talented, and extremely stunning Odette. I realized I was looking for too long when I heard "Like what you see?" and turned around to Daniel raising his eyebrows and turning his gaze from me towards Odette. I calmly shrugged and turned to the girls to find them discussing what kind of equipment and snacks we should carry for the trek.
We decided on the things we needed to carry for the group and each went to their respective rooms to prepare, as tomorrow would be packed with training, and then we would be leaving the next day at dawn for my birthday trek.
Training felt like it lasted forever the next day, but we were almost buzzing with excitement about the trek. We did not want to risk any possible chance of Jack withdrawing our permission and so we each focused on our training. The moment training ended we had a quick meeting to discuss if anything additional needed to be carried for the trek, lazed around for a bit, and then said bye for the day.
"See you'll tomorrow, at dawn," I said as I headed towards my parent's chamber.
