Chapter 30: LATE DINNER

Princess Nuri's POV:
As the kiss became deeper, I felt myself wanting more. I had never before felt like this for anyone, even the mate spell had not had such an effect. I did not want to be any further from Adam than I was right now.
We pulled away a bit to catch our breath, but my hands were exploring the man in front of me. I could feel the well-sculpted muscle, tracing my fingers down to his abs, wanting to explore more... feel more... have more... But Adam held my hand.
"Why don't we take it a bit slow? You need to get to know me better before we move in that direction."
I am sure I had an extremely dumbfounded expression on my face, my mate did not want to claim me, he must have realized what was going through my mind, "It is not that I do not want to. It is taking all my will power to hold back. But I do not want you to feel pressured or do something you think I would like. That is why I am saying let us take it slow."
I could hear what he was saying, and I was trying to understand.. and right then there was a knock on the door. "Hope you'll have discussed whatever it was, and I do not need to go doling out punishments to any mortal right now. Also, the food is getting cold here."
My father was back, I quickly got up, straightened myself out, and opened the door, "Yes daddy, we are all done with the discussion."
"But Sir, I would like to talk to you," Adam said. My father looked at me quizzically, but continued to move, "Why not discuss this over an extremely late meal. Join us, Adam, I hope you like steak." This is something I was not expecting, eating a meal with my father and Adam at the same table at this very moment. But Adam helped me set the table, while daddy pulled the trolley in. We each started eating, "So what it is you want to talk about Adam?"
"Sir I would like to ask your permission to date your daughter. I know we are mates as per your customs and ways, but I would still like to have your approval."
My father and I looked at each other. I was practically speechless.
"Nuri's mother will love you! Of course, you have my approval. The Sun God and Moon Goddess do everything for a reason, and them selecting you to be my Nuri's mate is part of their plan. But I will be keeping an eye on you."
They continued talking through the meal, as daddy was very fascinated by how a 21 year old was managing multiple companies, with Swift Enterprises being a company even he had heard of. Adam even told daddy about the new company he had procured today.
While they continued talking, I was thinking about how the day had begun and now how it was ending. Such a different day compared to what I expected when I woke up this morning. How things can change in only a few hours.
"My dear, are you listening to me?"
I was lost in my thoughts and had not realized that my father had been spoken to me.
"I am sorry daddy, you were saying?"
"So now you will be returning home."
What?!? "No daddy, I will not be returning home yet. I need time to think. I cannot even look at Roark right now... It would be too painful. Please give me some time. I will come up with a plan where they will declare what their plan was. And though we now know that they are planning something, we do not know what their exact plan is. So please give me some time. I would like to stay in the mortal cities. Please, daddy."
"Your mother was sure that you would want to come up with a plan. You know I am always here to guide you and if you need me. But you will not be staying in this hotel. I had already expected you to say something along these lines, and so I have already signed paperwork to put a house in your name. It is on the outskirts of the city but not too far away. And of course, your mother and I will be coming to check in on you." Then my father turned towards Adam, "I am guessing Adam too will be visiting you often. But try to keep things under control Adam."
"Daddy!"
"What? I know how things are when you meet your true mate. I was surprised you and Roark managed for three years without even getting intimate. What has happened today explains why you were not as opposed to the idea of waiting..."
'Daddy!"
"Fine. Fine! It is getting late. And I should get moving. Your mother will be waiting for me." He started to get up, and seeing that Adam couldn't take his eyes off me he continued "Adam will be leaving with me as well. I will see you tomorrow morning and we will head to your place. Also, we haven't told anybody about your whereabouts. So do you want me to handle the situation?"
"Daddy, we will talk about that tomorrow morning. For now please keep this secret. I will see you tomorrow." I tip-toed to kiss my father on his cheek. "As expected of my princess. See you tomorrow morning." He kissed me on my forehead and started heading towards the door, "Come on Adam, let my daughter rest."
I turned to find Adam's eyes on me, looking at me with love, "I will see you tomorrow. Good night!" He took my hand, kissed it, and they both left.
I locked the door, changed into my nightwear, and lay down on the bed, falling asleep within minutes of my head touching the pillow.
Tomorrow is going to be interesting...
