I remember Hayden asking me something. My eyes hurt. I remember my parents asking me if I was alright. I remember being rolled around on a hospital bed, with nurses and doctors all around me.
My whole body hurt, by mostly my eyes. I couldn't open them. I remember the doctors saying something about my eyes. Something bad, but I don't remember what.
I woke up on an uncomfortable hospital bed. There was a bandage around my head, which covered my eyes. I sat up.
I felt sore. Since I couldn't see, I felt around my body to make sure nothing was in a cast. Luckily, just some bruises.
I heard someone stand up beside me.
"Hi sweetie." Said a voice.
"Mum?" I asked. It was hard to make thing out when not only was the bandage covering my eyes but also my ears as well.
Mum took my hand and kissed it. I felt for the bed and sat down. I heard Mum sit down beside me, which rustled the covers.
"Am I at the hospital?" I asked, although I already knew I was. "Where's Dad?
"Yes honey. You were in a car accident with Hayden." Mum said. "Don't you remember? You father is downstairs with Liam."
I nodded. I heard Mum sigh. I remembered what happened. I hoped Hayden was alright.
"Where is Hayden?" I asked getting up. Mum sat me back down.
"He's fine Harlyn. Just a sprain to the wrist but other than that he's all good." Mum said. "But you sweetie..."
Just then someone walked in.
"Hi doctor." I heard Mum say.
"How are you doing Harlyn?" Said a deep voice. I turned my head's towards it.
"Fine." I said. "What's this thing on my head?"
That was dumb question. Obviously it was a bandage.
The doctor sighed. I heard Mum sigh too.
"Well Harlyn..." The doctor started. " It seems that when your car crashed, some broken pieces of glass had fallen into your eyes.
We got the pieces out, but we don't know how your vision will be. Considering where the glass fell there is s a good chance that your vision might be very blurry or even be completely gone."
I gasped.
"What?" I yelled. "You mean I'm blind!"
I shot up. I heard Mum sigh once again.
"Well, not exactly. There is also a good chance that your vision may just be blurry." The doctor spoke up "We'll have to take the bandage off and find out."
"Now?" I said impatiently. The doctor sighed and stepped towards me.
"Sit please." He said. Mum rushed out of the room saying something about getting Dad and Liam.
The doctor slowly unraveled the bandage on my head. I had a bad feeling rising in my stomach.
When the doctor had finished with the bandage he sighed. I slowly opened my eyes.
Everything was black.
"Is the light on?" I asked, my voice small. The doctor didn't reply so I took that as a yes. I felt my eyes.
They were open. But I didn't see anything. I was blind.
