The relayed message carved up a bit of the general’s hopelessness, as he ordered his men to withdraw. And passed same message to others, conducting raids in other regions to return home. After they had release the residents bounded up in the southeast. While relaying to the knights and soldiers with him, to overlook what had happen, and just be glad they came out of it unscathed, as he called it a night.
Moments after Tosin had confirmed his messenger reaching the general; completing the order given by the king. He relayed to the king the completion of his order.
“Well done… Now we’ll just have to wait for them to make their way here” the king said, placing his hand on his cheek, as he rest the arm on the handle of his throne, while his wife the queen, mother and siblings stood at the center of the throne room. Waiting for the second princess to make her way to them.
While the guards in the throne room. Lined with lengths of distance from one another, in a vertical form, from the ends of both the left, and right side of the throne, to few lengths away from the doorway of same right, and left ends. All standing with spear in hand were relieved by the change of event. As they were also waiting to be graced by the present of the second princess.
Moments passed before the lady in hoodie clothing, and her knight finally made their appearance in the throne room, where most of her family were waiting for her. Due to her hesitation to move pass the throne room’s doors. Pondering on how to face her elder brother, the king, and the possible outcome to things.
After mustering up the courage to face the king, she then asked the guards at the entrance of the doors of the throne room to announce her present. They opened the doors afterward with her knight standing beside her, while her little sister.
The third princess, a child of innocence, 7 to 10 of age, with a rather cute and adorable face. Matched with black hair, styled in a way that brought out her cuteness, and beguiling looks, in a native wear accustom to the royal family. With beads on her wrists, and neck as that of her legs. Rushed to hug her, upon gaining sight of her.
Her junior brother, mother, and the Queen minds were finally at ease upon witnessing her present. While her elder brother the king had mixed feelings about her present. Although he was relieved by the sight of her, especially when she seemed unscathed, and was with her knight.
However, he couldn't help but ponder how many times, he had told her not to roam around the kingdom without any prior notice to him, or any form of escort. Especially in the absent of her knight, due to the occasional occurrence of attempted a*******n on her. Given the importance of her role in the kingdom’s development, and that of the people she has crossed to get the kingdom up and doing.
Making her alluring for both good, and bad crowd alike. But her rebellious act, and attachment to the kingdom's folks, as that of the forest tend to make her go against his warnings, and words, like that of every other officials.
However he thought the uprising of violence in the kingdom, the frequent attempts of a*******n, and the tension their mother gives. Anytime they can’t find her in the palace amongst other factors, would at least make her reconsider things, but it seemed to be the opposite.
At that moment, the streaming thoughts of her negligent towards his words and warning, made him wonder, if she was begging to be abducted. Or just wish to give him more hardship to add too, what was already in place with the general and chiefs of the council. As they had made him nothing more, but a scarecrow king, and he couldn't do much of anything about it.
“It’s okay, am alright… Am sorry to have made you worry so, little sis” she said after being grabbed by her little sister, as she cried, in relief. While she smiled patting her head with one hand, and held her with the other, as she stood.
“That’s enough… You two… There are still issues we need to address” the king said with all ounce of seriousness, while most were still lost in the relief of her present. And moved by the moment, the sisters were sharing. Blocking them from hearing the words the king uttered.
“Your Majesty… Maybe this isn’t the appropriate time for it… I mean she is safe, and unharmed, probably a bit exhausted, I might add… Don’t you think letting her rest, at least for the night, before addressing her would be more suited… Besides it is a bit late, sire” his wife the queen employed her husband to consider the fact that she shared, after walking to his side in response to his words, with a rather gentle voice.
“My queen, I know you mean well, but I can’t do that… Her antics has been going on long enough… She is too reckless, and has been ignoring my warnings far too much... Going easy on her any longer will be encouraging her antics…”
“Besides, I have failed in being the king of the people… I can’t let myself fail in being her brother, as well” the king replied dismissing her words. Sharing his thoughts of failure as the king. While his voice cracked, and was filled with sadness, in fear of what might happen. If he does nothing to secure her safety, as that of his family, with what power and authority he had left.
“Your majesty…” his wife whispered with her voice ever so gentle, holding a stain of concern and agitation. In understanding his thoughts of things, while she stood beside him. At his left shoulder side, the opposite side to his right hand man, who was at his right shoulder side few lengths from the throne, where the king sat.
The atmosphere in the throne room, after the entry of the princess was calm, and silent, as most of her family were still whelmed by the fact of her being unscathed. Although her clothes was a bit squeezed at some parts, but there were no signs of it, or her being roughed up. Which led them to believe she was not actually abducted, and that the general was just exaggerating things.
As they feast their eyes, at the show of the sisters bonds and love for one another, while the distance and inner voiced used by the king, and queen in their talk, as that of most minds being lost in the sight before them. Made almost none actually aware of the relayed words, or talk between the king and queen. Other than the king’s right hand man.
Who was at the right shoulder side of the king, few lengths to the throne. Unfazed by the moment the sisters shared, but paid attention to all that was happening around. The talk between the king and queen inclusive as he stood. While the others were distracted, except that of the guards in the throne room, who’s distance from the throne was what deprived them from hearing the king and queen discussion.
“Thank you for escorting her home sir, Adewale… I really appreciate it… However apologies for the trouble she might had cause on the way”
“Not at all, your majesty, it is the least I could do, after all I am her knight… Am only doing my duty, your majesty”
“Hmm... Even so, sir Adewale… Thank you for your never ending effort to protect her…” the king said commending her knight, after he had walked forward. Taking a bow, with courtesy before the king. After the king’s words of gratitude, while ignoring his wife advice.
“As for you sister... Please, by all means, do enlighten me, on why it is that you left the palace with no notification…? Against, my warnings?” he asked with a rather intimidating voice. Giving her a chance to state her case.
Most felt a bit uneasy towards the king's words, and his manner of approach, since only few could withstand his words of intimidation. Most of the guards were quaking in their boots. Thinking it was a bit much using his king’s authority on her, as he infused intimidation in his words.
While his family, the knight, and right hand man were not really affected by his words of intimidation, but could feel a bit of the impact.
“Your majesty… I apologize for my act… But in my defense I left a note of my departure, and time of arrival in my room… Precisely on my bed… In other to prevent events like this, or stirrup tension… Am surprised you all are this antsy, considering the measure I took…”
“Or did none find it, your majesty?” she replied, ignoring his intimidation as she stood. Knowing there was close to nothing she could say to suade the king of her act, but confused as to why they all looked so agitated. Curious, if like her knight, the king was unaware of her note. As she held her younger sister, patting her gently, in response to her younger sister holding her a bit tighter, in fear of the temper of the king.
Her words placed most in a haze, confused as to what she was referring too. Since none of the guards that searched her room reported sighting a note on her bed. And her mother, and younger sister who were the first to enter her room in her absent. And the once to notice she was not in the palace didn’t come across such.
“A note? What are you talking about” he asked lost, as to what she uttered.
“Tosin… Is what she’s saying true? Was there a note in her room?” the king continued asking his right hand man, since all regarding the event was reported to him, while he was attending to other issues.
“Sire… I have no knowledge of such… Her Majesty the Queen, your mother, and her highness lady Arinola were the first to enter her room today, in her absent that we know of, none was even reported to have been in the room before them… Or after the chief of the royal guards, and his men…”
“And from what I could gather her highness, and majesty left her room almost immediately upon entry… Probably, due to the shock of her absent in her room… In light to that, it safe to say they couldn’t have seen anything, and everyone else that enter the room reported nothing of such” he said relaying, what he could deduct, and had gathered, as regards to the event.
“I can sense she is not lying, so it’s safe to say she stating the facts, but if that’s the case then someone deliberately took, and hid the note then… But who? It can’t be the general, since he didn’t even care to look at her room… Right?” Tosin thought after sensing the status of her uttered words to verify her claim by sensing her energy, but realized it was true, which made him wondered who the culprit was, but doubt the general could be the one.
“However, at this point I would say, it’ll be hard to proof her words, and same can be said for otherwise… but if you don’t mind your majesty… I’ll advice we look into the case… Although the chances are a bit slim but…” he concluded, making the king aware of the status of the situation. While proposing the case to be looked into, but was silent by the king, with a wave of his hand.
“There will be no need for such… It will only be a waste of time… Given the chances” the king replied. Understanding the situation on ground, while the others present felt a bit disturb by what it could mean, but more disturbed by the king’s denial for the case to be looked into.
“Besides, am I so belittle to her …? That she would think leaving a note on her bed is all she would need to be excused of her act, huh sister…? Do you really think a note will be all that you would need to justify your antics?” the king continued asking, masking his true feelings with rage, after ignoring what the result of the missing note could mean. While using his authority to inspire intimidation in his words.
Infusing a slightly significant mass of intimidation in each word he uttered, which distracted all from the issue at hand. Preventing them from making any objection, as most focused on how to withstand his words, which eventually made his guards present in the throne room passed out.
Leaving only his family, and right hand man standing with ease. While her knight was trying to withstand the kings words of intimidation. As he was infuriated by the change of event.
“Am sorry, sister… This is for your own good… Hate me if you will, but I’ll protect our family, at all cost” the king thought to himself knowing what he has to do.
“Have warned you several times not to leave without an escort, but you tend to turn a deaf ear to my words… Are you trying to get abducted, or do you think it’s fun to torment us so, huh, sister?” he continued not giving her the chance to reply, as he kept using his authority.
“Ugh… However it seems you don’t really value your freedom, and the privilege you were born with, nor have you acknowledge the pain you've caused, or the kindness have shown you… A bit of schooling in isolation should teach you a thing, or two of the value of freedom… Given how it’ll be stripped from you from here on out, since you’ll have enough time to read up on business our kingdom should profit from this too… Haha” he said with a raging face as he laughed.
“This has to be done… It’s the only way I know to protect you, right now” he thought to himself as he kept creating the façade.
“You’re hereby stripped of your freedom… You will be place under house arrest; banning you from leaving your room without permission as that of the palace… And you will be escorted everywhere, and anywhere outside your room, from here on out till further notice…”
“If you try, or attempt to go against my decree your freedom won’t be the only thing that you’ll lose... I’ll leave you with no privacy” the king continued stating his decree.
