His Intimate Duties
Although Margery had Ken’s signature on the consent form, she knew that it would take more than dried ink to ensure Ken’s compliance with her authority. She decided to start setting the rules for their relationship right away.
Snatching the pen from his unresisting hand, Margery made Ken look her straight in the eye. Her serene gaze was practically hypnotic in its force. She knew what she wanted from Ken. She also knew how to get it. Margery said:
“Kenneth, you must realize now that you are entirely in my power. Most particularly, it means that whenever you disappoint or anger me, I shall whip you mercilessly. The threat of a whipping is not an idle one, I assure you.”
