  She was joking around with Lily Summer when Lily offered to give her a ride home.   Friendship really is a strange thing sometimes.   Maria hadn’t driven herself, so she had to try hailing a ride out front. What she didn’t expect was how many people there were and how few cars. There were still twenty people ahead of her. Estimated wait time? Thirty minutes.   Was she seriously supposed to stand there for half an hour? That was just ridiculous.   Maria was debating whether to call Grace—she usually had better luck with car apps—when a car suddenly pulled up in front of her and out stepped Noah.   Maria frowned slightly. How did he know she was here?   Was it another Shadowglint move?   Regardless, the idea of someone always knowing her location gave her an uncomfortable chill.
